Jacko - I'm An Individual
Mark "Jacko" Jackson, born August 30, 1959, is a former Australian rules footballer who played professionally for several teams, including St Kilda, Melbourne, Geelong and South Fremantle. After his football career he became notable for his television appearances, namely the Energizer and Nutri-Grain commercials, and several feature films. Following his retirement from football, 'Jacko' used his fame and popularity to launch a singing career. His first single, I'm An Individual was a top 40 hit on the Australian singles chart, debuting at #36 on April 18 1985, reaching #33 and staying on the charts for 4 weeks. A second single, My Brain Hurts was not so successful. A 1991 release ("You Can Do This") also failed to make an impression. Jacko combined rap-like lyrics with an amount of Australian comedy and larrikinism to bring great profits for himself.
