This is my alternative history project. This is a really brief overview of the events of Reconstruction from 1865 - 1867. If your screen looks a bit funny, it's because the video is meant to look old.
The song used here is "Summertime" by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. It was originally written for Gershwin's opera "Porgy & Bess." While it was written in the 1930s, it could still apply to Reconstruction. The song at first may not seem to match with the images, but I wanted to give the video an eerie feel. The song (used in the opera) is a lullaby to a baby in order to distract him from the harsh reality of the world.
