UPDATE: a recent court ruling in Maryland found the WBC liable for 11 million dollars.
On oct 6th the WBC church brought their hate speech to frederick, MD. Over a hundred people rallied together to run them out of town. After about twenty minutes the police could no longer contain the counter protest and the hate group ran to their cars. As they tried to escape they turned down a street that was closed because of a huge street festival and became trapped in their car in some ones driveway. The counter protesters swarmed their car and smashed their windows. no one was arrested for this and the police basically looked the other way.
Here are some things to notice:
0:00-1:00 - counter protest mobilizes.
1:00-1:05 - notice how the phelps family exploits their own young children by making them go to these protests and dressing them in advertisements for income generating hate websites.
1:33-1:43 - some counter protest dance moves
1:54-2:00 - notice how the phelps family member holds up his phone so someone can hear the commotion. shortly after this more WBC members showed up. they were picketing two churches that day and there were no counter protesters at the other church. he called them over to the rally because these people have a need for attention. Its like they want to be famous but they are not smart, pretty or talented enough. After years of this behavior it seems like they have become addicted to this fake, pathetic and warrantless form of celebrity.
2:09-2:13 - black bloc antics.
2:35-2:40 - first interaction between the hatemongers and the counter protesters. notice on his sign he mentions a bible verse. leviticus 18. it says something about dont be gay. what they don't have on their signs is leviticus 11. It says shellfish are an abomination and that you should be punished for eating them. see www.godhatesshrimp.com for more info on that.
2:55-3:20 - bring in the belly dancing
3:50-4:00 - the counter protesters signs block the view of the hate groups signs.
4:10-4:20 - more belly dancing
4:30-4:40 - the counter protest has blocked from view all of the hate speech.
5:50 - cops start trying to figure out how to get the hate group away from the angry mob.
6:33-6:50 - notice how they make their own young children stand on the american flag in hopes of being arrested for defaming the flag and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. then they sue the city it happened in. this has already happened in Bellevue, Nebraska. Again this shows that these people are really just attention hungry money whores who try to manipulate our legal system for their own financial gain
7:00 - the hate bringers sing a song called god hates america.
7:32 - awww. this child is confused. bringing children to this event has got to be some form of child abuse...
7:40 - The look of apprehension on this ladys face is intense! You can tell they were worried.
7:48 - congo line encircles the WBC.
8:09 - the police escort the WBC family to the edge of the protest where they begin to flee to their vehicles. the police were already stretched thin that day because of Fredericks "In the streets" festival.
8:40 - the WBC starts to drive off. the angry crowd gives their car chase.
9:00 - You can see the WBC filming the angry crowd from inside the car. again i believe they are addicted to the attention.
9:20 - big mistake! they turn down a street that is closed on the next block and their car becomes trapped in an alley driveway. for a short period of time there were no police to stop the mob from smashing out their windows.
9:31 - The WBC are trapped in an alley and the police spend the next twenty mins trying to clear the crowd so that the hate group can get out of frederick.
