Marvin Gaye Tellin' the truth. This alternate version dates from 1972. Let's listen to it and adapt it to our current situation, which isn't much different than it was then. We need someone of African descent, one of us. Stevie Wonder supports the Democratic party. The Republicans have done only harm to us in the last 40 years... Nixon, Reagan, Bush Sr., Bush Jr, you know... They have all been consistanly anti- Civil Rights and anti-Womens' rights. How about a peoples' president? Enough corruption. Bush isn't the only corrupt politician. He's just too easy to catch. I feel that we cannot vote for any Republican, because what that party has represented for 40 years is completely against the African American. The Republicans have really set back civil rights. Democrats stand as the lesser of the 2 evils. So we must vote! We have only had white male presidents. What sort of melting pot is that? If America's an equal oppurtunity nation, where's a black president? a woman president? a Muslim president? a Jewish president? for the entire existance of this country, it has been ruled by white males. That's no coincendence. America says it isn's a white supremisist nation, but I won't be convinced till we have a non-white male president. Let's make America live up to its so-called equality. Let's fight oppression through song as we have always done so...

This is one of Stevie's two contributions to Spike Lee's film, "Bamboozled."(2000) "Misrepresented People" is a great work of Stevie's and his sense of melody over harmony is powerful. Listen close to about 2:31. Up from A-flat minor to C minor. Stevie's the Modulation Master. Stevie's socially and culturally conscious and is a responsible artist who fights for freedom. We should only follow the artists who know the power that they hold and use it to enlighten. As the saying goes, "Black music is Serious music." It's been a part of every African/ African-American movement. "In 1492 you came upon these shores. Seven hundred years, educated by the moors; 17th Century-- genocide and the gun Middle Passage blessed to market the Africans. In the so-called Land of God My kind were treated hard. From back then until now I see, and you agree-- We have been a misrepresented people. From back then until now Just see my family tree; We have been a misrepresented people. We have been a misrepresented people. 19th century-- slavery destroyed. Soldiers who fought and won What's known as 'nigger-boys'. 20th century-- with freedom in my hand, We invent ideas Which helped us save a land, But while I prayed to God My moms and pops got whored. From back then until now You'll see our history; We have been a misrepresented people. From back then until now Just see my family tree; We have been a misrepresented people Yes, we have been a misrepresented people. 1969-- Black power's at the door. 1982-- Hop-hop was on the floor. 1992-- Gangsta crack prevailed. 1999-- Our colors filled the jails. It is through the grace of God That we all were not scarred. From back then until now We see no comedy; We have been a misrepresented people. From back then until now Were we still a mystery; We have been a misrepresented people. Yes, we have been a misrepresented people. Though we march across time, A sea of victories, We have been a misrepresented people. From back then until now You know we made you grow; We have been a misrepresented people. We have been a misrepresented people. From back then until now We see our destiny To never be a misrepresented people. Yes, we march across to time to free A melody To never be a misrepresented people. No you must never be a misrepresented people."

One of Stevie's great pieces, "I Love You Too Much," off of his stunning 1985 work, "In Square Circle." Just one of the many showcases of Stevie's talent, vocally and instrumentally, from this great album. Stevie performs every part on the song, and more than likely used a MIDI configuration similar to the main photo used in this 'video.' Stevie is in control of the synthesizers and his sound never once seemed conpromised by the technology. A great lead vocal performance is enhanced by Stevie's own vocal harmony, which he pulled off perfectly again and again in the 1980s on albums such as this and "Characters"(1987) Stevie's an ever-growing, ever-learning artist, and I thank him everytime I listen to him. Honey you make me feel like you care a lot But I, I love you too much Baby you make me feel like you need me a lot But I, I love you too much When you say those words of love to me It makes me feel so good inside But when the sunshine comes and you must leave It only leaves me with my own foolish pride Baby you make me feel like you care a lot But I, honey, I love you too much Baby you make me feel like you care a lot But I, honey, I love you too much Oh, when you say those words of love to me I know you know you make me feel so good inside But if by break of day you never can stay There must be something in our love that I don't know about that you Feel you've got to hide Baby, baby, you make me feel like you care a lot But I, honey, I love you too much Baby you make me feel like you care a lot But I, honey, I love you too much Hey I love you, I love you, I love, I love you Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby I love you, I need you, I love, I love you Feel me, feel me, feel me, feel me, love me, love me I love you baby, don't let nobody tell you that I don't love you baby Oh oh I love you Baby, have you ever wished that forever nighttime could last Don't leave my heart a broken glass baby, oh oh Sometimes I feel like I love you I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you Maybe three much Yeah, I love you You make me feel like you care a lot But I, I love you too much

Writen by Stevie for Spike Lee's powerful, enlightening "Bamboozled,"(2000)perhaps Spike's greatest work. Stevie's harmony is haunting as his beautifully sung melody digs into the soul, the mind; finding sorrow, pain, suffering, yet knowing hope. This is one of Stevie's greatest works; in meaning, composition, performance, and passion. This is the history of Africans in America. The slideshow is made from painful images; slavery, lynchings, damaging stereotypes, as well as images of hope from the past. Today we must deal with the pain of slavery, and its still deep wounds in our hearts. We must deal with the racism of the last 150 years and the racism of today. Knowledge of our history will make us strong. We must educate our children ourselves with the truth. "Bamboozled" is a recommended film for all. "Some Years Ago" Stevie Wonder, 2000

One of Stevie's inspirational best, with a most meaningful lyric set to its harmony. Off of his great 1987 album, Characters. Stevie is an artist of the highest degree and brings joy to so many. Stevie revealed that "You Will Know" deals with, "The most important form of love of all, and that is, the force of God, talking to that lonely one... that voice is the allmighty, God, or Allah, or whomever one you believe in." "Lonely one of young so brokenhearted Traveling down the rigid road of life Using pharmaceutical extractions To find the paradise Finds the high but comes down feeling lower Gets down on their knees and starts to pray Looking up to heaven for the answer They hear a voice that says You will know Troubled heart you'll know Problems have solutions Trust and I will show You will know Troubled heart you'll know Every life has reason For I made it so Single parent trying to raise their children But they would much rather not alone Reaches out to find that special someone To make their house a home Finds someone but no one is the right one Gets down on their knees and starts to pray Looking up to heaven for the answer They hear a voice that says You will know Lonely heart you'll know Problems have solutions Trust and I will show You will know Lonely heart you'll know Every life has reason For I made it so" Stevie Wonder- 1987
