This Kendo clip is from Japan Public Broadcasting's documentary on " A Human's reaction ablitiy".The show includeded a short track start,Pro Baseball batter and Light weight Boxcer as well. Interest thing about the show was that former studies suggested that Human can not react no faster than 0.2 second limted bb the speed of electric pulse running through eye - frontal cortex brain - the body muscle..But, new sport analysis studis found some athletes could react in less than 0.2 second. Mr. Tanakanabe had much better reactive ability than Mr. Teramoto's. But, he could not catch up Teramoto's Men already released before his. Takanabe mentioned in his interview later that" He froze for a moment when Teramoto change his move from aiming DO to MEM". This split second frozen moment made his defeat. The narration concluded the segment stating that " Takanabe won in reactive superiority, but Teramoto won in Kendo".

This was a revenge match from last year. They met at quarter final. Takino(Budokuden) got first Kote, and this is NIHONME. ... J. Bronw(Torrence) obviously gained weight, and looks twice bigger than last year. Takio got straught win this year. I hope that my favorite Brown will be in good shape for TEAM USA 2009.

Maruyama/Budokuden(white) vs. Tominaga/Torrance(red)at Semi-final at SCKO Memorial Day Tornemant. Maruyama was Team USA's Senpo who fought with Uchimura of Japan at the historial Semi-finals at The 13th World Kendo Championships, Taipei in Dec.'06. Tominaga is also one of the finest Kenshi of USA. Both have strong fast attack style. Despite Maruyama's win, Budokuden team was beaten by Torrance A team that was led by Taisho, Chris Yang(Mr.Kendo USA).

My favorite Brow(RED) fought against LB Team Taisho 5-dan Tanaka(White)whose kendo career was polished in Japan. It was at SCKO Memorial Day Team Tournament at Long Beach Cabrillo High School Gym on May 27 2007. Tanaka sensei is known of his dynamic men from Toma(distance). But, Brown's men looks even farther and faster than Tanak's. Though Brown win with Nihon Gachi(2 straight points), Torrance B team lost in this semi-final match. Brown should be considered as a Taisho for next US Team for the World for his kendo talent.

Final match@ SCKO individual Championship on Oct. 22 2006 at Long Beach, CA. J. Brown(Torrance Dojo) vs. Takino(Budokuden). They're both young(~20?) kenshi survived until final match amongst 3dan~7 dan division in all Southern California....though,most of other active Team USA members did not participated this Tournament such as C. Yang or S. Maruyama due to their training in Japan. Brown also is "the younguest" TEAM USA member.

Semi-Final match@SCKO individual Championship on Oct. 22 2006 at Long Beach, CA. J. Brown(Torrance Dojo) vs. Taro Ariga(Budokuden)with unlimted extension. Brown(3dan,the younguest current TEAM USA member) fought Ariga Sensei(6dan),one of the best kenshi in North America(4 times Canadian National Team). Brown's kote skill really resembled his senpai kenshi, C. Yang at Torrance.
