Then we just started filming, nothing planned except which song to play :P SO most of this is merely experimenting with angles and editing. People have asked me how I made the background. "Uhm, it's a real forest..?" Spooky atmosphere.. The part were the "camera" follows the bow is made with After Effects. The last part was filmed at a concert in Italy.

Directed by Lasse Gjertsen Copyrights: Casa Musicale Sonzogno, Milan, 2007 This is a music video for the italian cellist Giovanni Sollima, on two of his compositions; "Terra Aria" and "Concerto Rotondo". Enjoy! www.sonzogno.it So this is the project I've been working on for the last 5 months, and heres how part 1 of it is made: On the six arms parts, which by the way took most of the time to make, I filmed Sollima playing the different layers of cello after each other. I then edited the video frame by frame in Photoshop (remember, it's 25 frames per second of video), cutting his arms out from the other layers and pasting it on top, matching the movement of the cello. This was done ca 4000 times, by myself. The clouds were actually filmed in my backyard, sped up 1250 times. The birds we're filmed in my town, Larvik, Norway on clear blue sky, so that I could use blue screen keying to put them on top of the clouds. It's hard to notice, but the birds are moving in half speed slow motion. I also had to stabilize the motion of the birds, since I filmed it with handhelt camcorder. The sequence was cut together using After Effects and Premiere. The forest, river sequence was photographed in a forest in Arona, Italy. I took a picture ca. every five meters, and morphed the images together using WinMorph, matching the pace of the music. The zooming sequence is very hard to explain. Basically, the first 8 seconds after it starts zooming and when you see Mr Sollima's face is real photos. The rest inbetween are "painted" in Photoshop by me. The rest of this part is merely editing in Premiere and After Effects. Allright!

Also thanks to the person letting me use her piano, but she didn't want her name here :P And now; to you people saying I'm ripping off Michel Gondry: I've seen his video with the drumkit called "Drumb and Drumber". It's here on youtube somewhere. His video and my video are different because of one very important detail: Gondy filmed himself doing drumming sequences and LOOPED them, while I hit each drum and piano chord seperately and edited them together. This is a very big difference if you have any idea about video editing. Actually, there is a short sequence of 5 sec where he does cut the beat, but I didn't notice this until recently, which makes me an idiot. But I still don't think it's a rip off, only similar. SO one question to you guys: If I write a song which includes the words "love" and "tight", am I ripping off The Beatles?? :P I met Michel Gondry in Milan, Italy and asked him. He didn't really give me a clear answer, but it seemed like he thought so. Either that or he didn't like my clothes. Lol.

"The Little Puppy" I just tried to make something cute, ok?! Did I succeed..? Norwegian language, but you're not missing anything. Basically speak-to-cute-little-thing-language :P How it's made: I had to use a lot of ham. The puppy didn't understand norwegian, but kind of understood the ham-concept. The headshot was made by blending three different clips frame by frame in photoshop; one where I was standing there with caps and hood, one where I threw the caps to my head and fell down, and one where I threw cherry juice on the wall.. I prefer black currant juice, looks so much better, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I made a flash in photoshop to make the shot look a little better. Also, I had to make a hole in my head in the last shot later, cause I forgot to it when I was filming. I did this in photoshop. You can actually see that it's a matte painting just as the puppy walks over to me, the matte is overlapping his left side, lol. But it's too late to fix up, I deleted the all the files :S

OK, first of all, I hate soccer! But I thought to myself, what would make even me start watching it? Therefore I made this little film, a soccer match set in the year 2097 where the games has evolved some new interesting rules :P I'm not completely happy with it. It's just too damn violent! So much that it isn't funny at the end, you know? I sliced it down a little bit though, had some unnecessary long pauses and shit. How it's made: Hand drawn animation scanned into Photoshop and colored frame by frame there. Backgrounds are hand painted in aquarelle, and everything is edited together with Premiere. OK, this video is very ego, sorry about that! My dad suggested to upload it, and I though, what the hell.. The language is norwegian, but I did my best to subtitle it in english. If you hear the word "tits-machine", don't worry, it means "time machine" in norwegian, lol! This video was my interpretation of the admission assignment for an animation school in Norway, which was to make a "self portrait in any technique". I was studying in England at the time (Spring 2005), but wasn't satisfied with that school, and wanted to try another place. I got in! How it's made: Filmed myself infront of a green screen, made it to a walking cycle which could be looped forever. The rest are pictures from England and Norway and books, and are just mashed together in Premiere. The music is me, played guitar and harmonica myself (two instruments I actually can't master) but it sounds ok enough. Music edited together in FL Studio.

Sorry, no funny material here! OK, I'm fucking fascinated by the show "Ghost Hunters", but since it's on TV, I can't really trust it you know. So I went out for myself with a camcorder and sound recorder at a cemetary. I got nothing on the sound, but found this on video, and I can't explain it. Hope some of yall can. (It's 2 fps because I needed long exposure to get the picture light enough). It's me walking around in the center, but if you watch the left hand corner of the screen, somekind of cloud is forming. I was thinking it might be reflections from the lights from a car or something, but if you watch carefully, it looks like the fog is breaking the light from the lightpole in the bacground.. Or magnifying it somehow, but you need some kind of solid transparent form to do that, right? The fog then vaporizes. It looks weird, but I have no idea what can have caused it. Also, on the sound from the video (no sound on this) you can hear a small click exactly when the cloud forms..

Well, this was kind of an experiment. I wanted to see how it would look if my shadow ran away. I cut myself away from the scene so that only the shadow would remain. The result ist 100% but I think it's a cute little film.. (How it's made: Filmed 3 different things in each scene (the up the street scene in this example); the location (the street), me running (as me), and me running as the shadow. The sequences were exported from Premiere to seperate image files. In each image, or frame, I had to delete the surroundings so that only me (or only my shadow on that sequence) was visible. I then put the two sequences on top of the location sequence. Voila! I also did some simple photoshopping on some scenes, like when the shadow is dead on the ground. The smoke in the film is artificial. I filmed myself having a sigarette behind a black cloth, so that the smoke went through (filmed in front of the cloth of course). I could then put it in the film as gunsmoke and breathing, using luma key. Oh, the car isn't really there either. It was cut in from another clip. The blood is blackcurrant juice)

Backgrounds are hand painted in aquarelle, and everything is edited together with Premiere. Music made with FL Studio. The choiring when he gets naked is actually my own velvet soft voice, hahaha. Three layers of singing of course, but I wish I could sing chords..)
