Bizarrefest 1998. European festival. I forget where. I always want to say Germany, but I'm pretty sure it's not. Hence, "European". Portishead and Nick Cave, to name a couple, performed at that years festival too. How cool is that? Ever notice how few uploaders actually write something in their descriptions? If you get a single sentence out of them, you're lucky. As you can plainly see here, I can't seem to shut myself up!

You know, I had something very witty to say in this description, but I'd rather complain about how obnoxious it is trying to put up decent looking videos here on youtube. I apologize this video looks like garbage, but I've attempted several times, different formats, etc., and they all come out looking like arse. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. PS: I've always loved this performance of 'Snake'. Oh, and one more thing.. the first 25 seconds is ever-so-slightly sped up for some mysterious reason. I have no idea why. It settles into it's correct speed after that.

Yes, you've read it correctly.. this is the one and only 'The Dancer', performed live. I think you know by now just how rare this is.. for whatever reason, she's only performed this song a handful of times throughout her career and furthermore, to have it captured on video, well, that's even MORE rare. This is only one of four known filmed live versions of this song. One of the others is featured elsewhere on youtube (recorded in 1995 and filmed for the BBC). Then there are two more, which are briefly described in the initial few posts in the comment section to your left. So enjoy. From the 'To Bring You My Love' album. It's one of those live, but no studio audience sessions. Love the really caustic, dirty guitar tones in this version. The video is sort of choppy. Not sure if it's fixable by an alternative method of encoding or not, but hey.. at least I finally got another PJ video up! (long overdue, I know. I'm a disappointment to everyone in real life too!)

Live gig at Martyr's club in Chicago. GREAT GREAT gig, BAD BAD audio capture, but what can you do? Halfway through this clip, she ends up dropping down into the audience to do some vigorous shimmy-shaking, so I stopped recording as I lost her behind the crowd. Go see her if she comes near you. don't question, just do.

I wish I had shot more video, but then you end up spending too much time worrying about video capturing, and miss out on the live experience. I need to work on my "no hands, strap it around my neck, guesstimate image centering, hit record and let it run" technique.
