"The Seven Gifts" is the new play presented by school theatre group Art Shock from Gymnasium Olbernhau (Olbernhau Grammar School). It is a play about life and what it consists of: love, happiness and loss. It also contains a lot of music and songs, the most impressive of which certainly is "The Shop", originally created by East German songwriter Gerhard Schöne in 1994. Here it is performed on the Day of the Open School Door, on March 1, 2008. The Shop Was it a dream or was it real, when I stepped into that shop a little confusedly ? The dealer behind the table somehow had a strange appearance. He tried to hide two wings underneath his glaringly white shirt The shelves were full with bags and boxes, but in the half-light I couldn't see what was inside of them. I asked the dealer: "What is it you're selling?" "All that you like, I've got everything. The things that you long for, things that can cheer you up, I have got on offer everything that you no longer hoped for." Oh, how I hurried to tell my wishes to that dealer there in front of me: "Listen, I'd like the silence of weapons and a better distribution of bread. More sense and understanding for our heads, and greed out of sight. Parents with time for their children. Respect for the animals. Bright rooms for everyone. Work, according to vocation..." Just as I wanted to go on, he said: "Hold on! You have certainly misunderstood me. As it seems you want to buy fruit. But no, I'm not selling any fruit. I have just got the seeds..." Among the most heart-rending and unforgettable experiences for a cinema-goer are the ones in which a film character that you have achieved to sympathize with is no longer able to cope with the surrounding reality and therefore takes the fatal decision to end his life by his own hand. This is especially painful when the character is an adolescent that has not yet experienced all possible facets of life. One of the best examples for such a film is "Lost and Delirious", directed by Canadian film-maker Léa Pool, which was first presented at the Berlin Film Festival 2001 and has developed into a cult movie since then. Young actresses Piper Perabo, Jessica Paré and Mischa Barton do excellent jobs in their performances of Paulie, Tori and Mouse. Original scenes were taken from the film's DVD, published by Universal. Additional music is by Tarja Turunen ("Damned and Divine", from "My Winter Storm") and by Zbigniew Preisner ("Lacrimosa", from "Requiem For My Friend").

After the screening he and his leading actress Cha Soo-yeon answered some questions of the audience. Stills from the movie were taken from www.koreanmovies.com. The added music is by Tarja Turunen, from her album "My Winter Storm".

"Ono" is the story of 22-year-old Eva (Małgosia Bela) a pregnant young woman with an unfulfilling, underpaid job. Her boyfriend has left her, but as she loves life, she decides against an abortion and begins to share her lust for life with her unborn child, to whom she begins to describe the world, using words, music and other sounds... Director Małgorzata Szumowska and leading actress Małgosia Bela presented the movie in a very charming way. They were helped by German producer Raimond Goebel and by Wieland Speck, director of the Panorama section. Małgorzata Szumowska was born in Kraców in 1973, and "Ono" was her second feature film. Since then she has directed two further movies. Małgosia Bela (Kraców, 1977) became world-famous as a model and worked in New York and Italy. In "Ono" she starred for the first time in a movie. Later on she took acting classes in the New York Actors Studio and got a leading role in "Karol, un uomo diventato Papa", a movie about the life of pope John Paul II. Added music is taken from "The Sleeping Sun", by Nightwish.

"Memory" is part of the musical "Cats", by Andrew Lloyd Webber, which was first shown in London on May 11, 1981. The song is originally performed by Elaine Paige in the role of the cat Grizabella. Later versions include Barbra Streisand and Barry Manilow. The German translation "Erinnerung" was made famous by Angelika Milster. Here it is performed by schoolgirls at the Day of the Open Schooldoor of Gymnasium Olbernhau (Olbernhau Grammar School), on March 01, 2008. Schicksalszeichen schattengleich an fensterlosen Wänden.

Rainy Day also in Tunis.
