I see you began with Staraptor to probably try to catch Yanmega off guard because I frequently open with him. Staraptor is a good Pokémon, I feel he is under-rated by many because they forget one thing: Staraptor is the reason Swellow is obsolete now. I like Staraptor and I'm eager to see what Platinum brings for him. Lopunny is a bit unusual, but we all know who likes Lopunny... That's right, Marriland! Of course, Lucario was expected given your name, Lucario is my favorite 4th generation Pokémon and I would use one myself if it fit into my team, but sadly it doesn't. A Pokémon with an awesome, unique Type with lost of resistances, absolutely beautiful movepool, and potential to be Physical and Special. However, I do have to suggest Roserade making a better opener than Staraptor. If you can lay down a Toxic Spikes with it, it proves effective. Anyway, good battle, but you were just unprepared for a Bug/Flying sweeper. He's got a good team built up and he definitely knows what he's doing. http://www.youtube.com/user/Wolfzdude To Wolfzdude: First off, I'll give my recommendations. I say that Rhyperior makes an inferior opener. You'll want to use him to switch in on an Electric or Fire Type or anything Physical you don't count on having Leaf Blade or Grass Knot. Using Gallade might be a good opener instead, but that's just what I think because if you get something Gallade scares in the beginning of a battle, you can go for Swords Dance and set up a sweep on them. If not, it can have Focus Sash to guarantee it a setup. With this being said, it's what I think is the common sense use for Gallade even though I feel Gallade is a bit obsolete for a sweeper due to its Heracross-level Speed without the incredible movepool of a bunch of 100-120 Power moves. If you want to keep using Gallade, the way I stated above is how I would do it, either that or get Hypnosis on it by waiting to evolve Ralts. The rest of your team was set up well and I can tell you knew how to use them. Forretress is something good for most anything Physical, but if I were in your shoes, I would've gone for Spikes and then used Explosion. Anyway, LucarioTrainer13 has contacted me in various PM's and in comments several times and he long-awaited our battle. http://www.youtube.com/user/LucarioTrainer13 To LucarioTrainer13: Well, let's begin with the start of this fight... Personally, I don't like the use of Infernape as an opener, it's still a great Pokémon and you could totally consider using it, I'd just recommend not as an opener. I would however, strongly consider dumping Blaziken. Having two Fire/Fighting Types is not effective in the slightest on any team and I along with much of online players consider Infernape superior to Blaziken. Luxray is a good option if used right, a lot of people don't believe he's dangerous, but he can be if used right. If you choose to use a Luxray, I'd recommend putting some Egg Moves on it. To finish off my critique, I absolutely love Torterra and consider him a criminally under-rated Pokémon by most people. Overall, a good battle, I would just recommend and strongly urge you to not have so many team members that are vulnerable to Ground. Garchomp would have no problems taking down a team such as yours and he's exceedingly common online. Tuba1028 belongs to a competitive clan and has a fairly good team composed of a lot of UU/BL Pokémon mostly. I'll admit, it was so hard predicting what he was gonna do next. Looking back on this battle, I made so many mistakes. It was recorded in a time that I was doing experiments with Double Team because I was curious if it really was a broken move. Well, I eventually learned to agree with it being broken. I offered Tuba1028 a rematch asking if it bothered him too much but he was cool with it. http://www.youtube.com/user/tuba1028 To Tuba1028: Hitmonchan proved a better opener than I expected, I wouldn't have used that one myself, I must say that much. Now, I do think the end result of the fight might have been at least a little bit different if Yanmega didn't miss with Air Slash at a super-vital time followed up by Weezing missing with Will-o-Wisp. If Yanmega could have set up a sweep, I think I would've gotten at least 2 or 3 of them taken out with Yanmgea, but that's just what I think. Other than that, Starmie is tried and true, has been for years, so is Jolteon. Great battle, I had a lot of fun and am glad that I finally had a loss since last spring. This battle gave me ideas for improvements to my team which went into action as seen in yesterday's video. Thanks again! I apologize if these battles are not getting uploaded in the proper order, I finished my new Garchomp 2 days ago and this opponent was a rematch that I wanted to do over because I felt bad for beating him with Double Team the first time, so I offered him a rematch and gave him an immediate upload. There were other battles recorded sooner than this, I apologize to those people, but I at least wanted to offer rematches to all my Double Team victims. It was merely an experiment I was doing to see if it really was over-powered, and I sure learned why it was banned and felt bad for using it on a serious level.
