I performed this song I wrote for a talent show held at the Rialto Theatre in Joliet. This was taped years ago before I was a teacher. I currently teach in Joliet and love the diversity found here. But at this performance I was the only caucasian and had a hard time getting started because the crowd was giving me a hard time. At the beginning the MC had to say "give him a chance" because they were booing before I even started. My mind was going crazy at that point and I wanted to run off the stage. Instead I nervously sang. But the singing got easier and I was happy when the booing turned into cheering. Some people walked up to the stage with money in their hand and that threw me for a loop, so I took it (I was broke back then..lol) I wish you could see more of the theatre in the video because it is an awesome place. (you can only see it during the last 15 seconds or so)

The piano was performed and written by Shawn Purnell. (A great guy by the way) and the words and melody were mine. Being the first time singing in front of a crowd, I was nervous. I actually never considered myself a singer (just a writer) but Shawn convinced me to sing the song despite my doubts. Just thought I'd share the experience. I have the summer off (teacher) so it gave me time to put my VRC videos on DVD....and it was fun reliving the moments. I love having time to reflect.
