I wholly recommend Justice League: The New Frontier. It's a powerful and beautifully done retelling of the DCU's history, starting at the end of the Korean War and taking place through the McCarthy-era and all the way until the start of JFK's presidency.
Shown here is the bit at the ending, which is done to a recording of SFK's "New Frontier" speech.
So past the point where JFK gives The Flash (Barry Allen) a medal, it starts to get a little confusing, especially for younger people, so I'll point out what's shown:
