Chelmsford 123 was a mediocre 80s sitcom set in the English town of Chelmsford in AD 123. However, the first episode - "Arrivederci Roma" - did feature this appearance by a certain Time Lord and his TARDIS...

The start of a 1987 episode of Wacaday, the Wide Awake Club's slightly dimmer younger sister. Of the good: *Michaela Strachan is a lot better looking than I remember. *Timmy Mallett sounds EXACTLY like David Tennant's 'Doctor Who'. *That stupid budgie thing is called Magic, a fact that I had completely forgotten until I saw this and which came up in question form in a pub quiz the next day. *"Transformers transform!" Of the bad: *No Transformers cartoon in the copy I have. *Michaela Strachan's air of asexual friendliness kind of offsets her pretty face and nice legs. *I miss not having any responsibility in my life. *For some unexplained reason, the titles spell out "WOG" right at the start. Racism is not cool. *The restriction on the amount of characters you can use in a title was exactly one less than I needed, hence the German "mit" replacing the word "with". *We still lost the pub quiz.

British documentary maker Louis Threoux visits a stylist to shape his rap image. From "Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends". Fun fact: Louis isn't the only Theroux to find fame. His cousin is the actor Justin Theroux of Mulholland Drive, his father is the non-fiction author Paul Theroux and his brother is the journalist Marcel Theroux.

Gilbert the alien on 1980s kids' TV show Get Fresh with co-stars Charlotte Hindle, Gaz Top, Gaz Top's Ludicrous Mullet and a plastic fish. Fun fact: Gilbert was voiced by Phil Cornwell from Stella Street. Apologies for the quality of the video...

Gilbert the Alien and Charlotte Hindle interview Captain Sensible, formerly of The Damned. I think this interview was recorded in 1987. Apologies for the abrupt finish.

Alan Moore, the author of acclaimed comic books Watchmen, Swamp Thing, V for Vendetta and From Hell, is interviewed by Gaz Top (and Gaz Top's Ludicrous Mullet) for the 1980s children's show Get Fresh. I believe this was filmed in 1987. Note the odd recommendation that the kids buy Watchmen, a comic book that features rape, gore and mass murder.

The classic dancing scene from Jean-Luc Goddard's crime comedy Bande a Part. It so impressed Quentin Tarantino that he named his movie production company, "A Band Apart", after the film and referenced it in Pulp Fiction. Goddard later said that he would much rather Tarantino had just given him a lot of money instead. Bande a Part was released in the US as Band of Outsiders.
