Video shows the F-22, Raptor, F-16 Fighting Falcon, P51 Mustang, F-18 Super Hornet, F-4U Corsair, F-104, and Air National Guard C-130 Hercules, in many dangerous maneuvers, sometimes at the speed of sound. The maneuverability and flight characteristics of several jet fighters are compared. Also in the show were F-104 Starfighters in close dangerous formation, and the B-25. The show included a shockwave jet truck and the AeroShell Aerobatic Team. The he F-18 Super Hornet flew in formation with the F-4U Corsair in the Legacy Flight. The F-22 Raptor, F16 Fighting Falcon, and P51 Mustang flew together in close formation in the Heritage Flight. Also, the Misty Blues Skydiving Team was in the show. Bomb bay openings are shown for both the Raptor and the B-25. The Dayton Ohio Air show takes place near the National Museum of the United States Air Force near Wright-Patterson AFB, the birthplace of aviation. The Dayton Air Show features precision aerial maneuvers to display some of the world's most amazing aircraft. Some portions are so dangerous they have resulted in crashes - stunt pilot Jim LeRoy had a fatal crash July 28 2007. However, the same aerobatics procedures continue unchanged in this year's show. Some of the demonstrations are at just below, or possibly at, supersonic speeds. At times, the sound seemed to come from some distance behind the planes. Completely new demonstration of the F-22 Raptor, the world's most advanced fighter and most fearsome killing machine ever. Also shown are many additional advanced unique aircraft undergoing astounding maneuvers. The Dayton Air Show features precision aerial maneuvers to display some of the world's most amazing aircraft. Some portions are so dangerous they have resulted in crashes - stunt pilot Jim LeRoy had a fatal crash July 28 2007. However the same aerobatics procedures continue unchanged in this year's show. Some of the demonstrations are at just below, or possibly at, supersonic speeds. The F22 will display the unique abilities of the world's only operational fifth-generation fighter aircraft. The Raptor is the world's first stealth air dominance fighter. It combines stealth, maneuverability, and an ability to fly long distances at supersonic speeds to maintain air superiority. For example, the F-22 dropped a GBU-39 bomb while traveling at supersonic speed. It is the newest most advanced military aircraft in the world with computerized controls and vectoring jet engines. In a totally new performance, in one minute the craft zooms from 70 to 700 mph. A high angle of attack and maneuverability never seen before will be demonstrated. Also shown are high-speed loops, low and high speed passes, tail slides, and paddle turns. It will appear that the craft is out of control in a flat spin. The Raptor's can travel at over Mach 2. As the world's most lethal aircraft, it is more advanced than other aircraft and the first next generation craft, with almost UFO-like capabilities. Also shown are F-104 Starfighters in close dangerous formation, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the F-18 Super Hornet flying with the F-4U Corsair, and the B-25. Video shows a young genious elephant (4-year old) learning many things including how to manipulate things with its trunk. He can play soccer, move a ball up hill, manipulate it in water, tag things with his truck and kick them, and learn spoken language. Shows the amazing intellectual ability of the elephant. Discussion of how elephants learn to use their truck. The elephant is one of few animals that recognize self in mirror, also one of the few animals that can throw things. Elephants do a lot of learning, and have to learn how to use their trunk. They also learn human language. Young are mischievous. They play trip keepers and can spook a bird. They understand what others are thinking at an early age. They have a sense of humor. Elephants live in matriarchial society. Males leave, but may come in later for breeding. The elephant's father, a Asian bull elephant also shown in this video, is considered the tallest Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) in North America. He is 10 feet at the central hump at his back as described in: WORLD'S LARGEST ELEPHANT INDOOR EXHIBIT & ELEP IN N. Video shows a tiger washing the inside of the windows while attendant washes the outside. After the tiger finishes with her paws, she begins licking the surface. Also shown is a tiger playing in the water and shaking, a tiger watching a girl with tiger face make-up, tigers fighting and playing, and the huge paw of the Siberian tiger for walking in snow. Its enormous length can be seen as it stands on two legs against the window. Tigers are large-brained, highly intelligent, and playful. Like all cats, they are also imitative, as shown. Note the expressions on the tiger's face during the slow motion portion. Also note the grace and beauty of this large carnivore. The largest, strongest, fastest, rarest, and most endangered tiger is shown. The Amur or Siberian Tiger is the largest member of the cat family and also one of the most endangered. The Amur (Panthera tigris altaica) also called the Siberian Tiger, shown here, is the world's largest cat. It has an average weight of around 500 lb for males, but can reach around 600-675 lb and possibly up to 845 lb. Probably, less than 500 exist in the wild and it is now confined in the wild to an area in Siberia. They can be a long as a car, have huge dagger-like canine teeth, and thick fur of a golden hue. Although cats are top predators, they are the most delicate animals in the ecosystem. They become extinct the most quickly, because they live off the fat of the land. Video shows the world's largest exhibited snake striking, attacking, eating, swallowing, and engulfing prey. This video is unusual because it shows the full range of python behavior in an active snake. Fluffy, a reticulated python, python reticulates, is considered the world's largest exhibited snake. Fluffy is 24 feet long, 300 pounds, and 15 years old. Fluffy's waist is the size of a watermelon. She is shown making both rapid and slow movements, striking, attacking (in self-defense), eating a rabbit, taking a bath, swimming, climbing, and making jerking or twitching movements. Although captive pythons are generally seen sleeping, this video shows a very active snake. She also sort of greeted the keepers - she raised her head right before they entered her room. This may be the nearest anyone can come to seeing a real dinosaur for Fluffy is dinosaur-sized. She is also very primitive, for the python even has a vestigial pelvis and hind limbs, which are remnants of its lizard ancestry, and can be externally viewed. They are strong with powerful muscles. Pythons are dangerous. They have killed and eaten people. They have a dangerous bite and can constrict around a person and squeeze them to death. Two people have to be in with her, one to protect the other. Pythons are ambush predators They remain motionless in a camouflaged position and then suddenly strike. They can swim and climb trees. They can unhinge their jaws to engulf large prey and eat prey that is much larger around than they are. Fluffy has 57 children. Females incubate their eggs by coiling their body around them. They keep them at a constant 89 C. They even shiver to maintain the right temperature. These snakes are very beautiful and suggest that the dinosaurs could also be colorful. They have striking skin patterns that include blotches, spots, bands and rings. They can resemble ground cover. Some have iridescent colors and some species can shift their skin colors. They can have complex geometric color patterns, including diamond and other shapes. Fluffy was supposed to make an airplane trip, but it was cancelled after the movie, Snakes on a Plane, came out. Jack Hannah of the Columbus zoo has taken Fluffy on the David Letterman show. According to Guinness World Records 2005, the world's longest snake was a reticulated python, which was 32 ft. 9.5 in. It was killed in Celebes, Indonesia, in 1912. Fluffy came to the zoo recently and the signs shown in the video give the information about her. The video shows the "Big Cats"-some of the world's largest, most powerful, strongest, and rarest cats. Also shows various cats stalking prey, killing, and eating it. This video is unique for several reasons. For one, it shows a large roaring male lion spraying spectators. So far as known this is the only view of this activity. Video also shows sounds of several big cats, including a puma meowing like a cat. This may be the only recording of these sounds. The puma also is shown making a faint growling or purring sound (7:31). It may also be the only video shows female lions growling. One is shown both growling and roaring. The video also shows a lioness making powerful leaps. In several leaps, she is photographed in a vertical position, showing her length and the height to which she could leap. Shown also are big cats leaping, pouncing, fighting, eating prey, and vocalizing. A leopard just captured a stray bird seconds before I arrived and I photographed it eating the bird. Also shows the predatory pounce of carnivores and tendancy to go for the back or jugular. The video shows the lion, tiger, leopard, juagar, puma-cougar-mountain lion, cheetah, Palla's cat, white lion, and white tiger. Although the lion is noted for its golden brown color, under certain lighting conditions, the adult lion has spots, as do many other cats, as shown. These animals are what is called the big cats. The term, big cat distinguishes large cat species from smaller ones. A general definition of big cat includes the four species of cat in the genus Panthera: the lion, tiger, leopard, and jaguar. They are the only cats able to roar. Another definition also includes the cheetah, snow leopard, clouded leopard, and cougar. The roaring cats may be distinguished from the other big cats by referring to them as the "great cats". Three of the four big cats are members of the genus Panthera; the cougar is the fourth largest cat, and it exceeds the leopard in size. In spite of these enormous differences in size, the species of cat are amazingly similar in both structure and behavior. All cats are carnivores and predators. Their range includes the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe. Australia and Antarctica have no indigenous species of cats. Skunk vs. Cat: The big cats have many defenses, such as teeth, claws, stealth, the ability to run fast, pounce leap, tear apart, kill, etc, but a new weapon is shown here. That is the ability of many cats to spray a subject. Cats may be quite good at this and some can target their spray with surgical precesion. The video also shows the largest, strongest, fastest, rarist, and most endangered. The Amur or Siberian Tiger is the largest member of the cat family and also one of the most endangered. The cheetah is the fastest of all land animals. Although cats are top predators, they are the most delicate animals in the ecosystem. They become extinct the most quickly, because they live off the fat of the land. The Amur (Panthera tigris altaica) also called the Siberian Tiger, shown here, is the world's largest cat. Probably less than 500 exist in the wild and it is now confined in the wild to an area in Siberia. They can be a long as a car, have huge dagar-like canine teeth, and thick fur of a golden hue. The white tiger can be very inbred. The range of the lion (Panthera leo) once extended across Africa and into Asia. Many are critically endangered, as is the white lion. Males can weight up to 550 lb. and they are the second largest cat after the tiger. A critically endangered remnant population exists in northwest India. The lion was once the most widespread large land mammal other than humans. The puma, jaguar, and bobcat are found in the Americas. Lion, Panthera leo (Africa, India; extinct in former range of southeast Europe, Middle East and North America); Tiger, Panthera tigris (Asia); Jaguar, Panthera onca (the Americas - Mexico to northern Argentina); Leopard, Panthera pardus (Asia and Africa); Cheetah, Acinonyx jubatus (Africa and Iran); Cougar, Puma concolor (North and South America). This video shows huge bison demonstrating the fighting, digging, wading, foraging, and mating behavior shown by these animals. This video is unique for several reasons. It may be the only video of bison mating. Very few videos exist of bison fighting or of pronghorn antelope fighting. No videos exist of bison watching pronghorn fight (later the buffalo broke up the fight --to be shown in more detail in another video). It may also be the only video showing male spraying behavior. The bison is the largest land animal in North America. They can reach up to 2 meters (6.6 ft) tall, 3 meters (10 ft) long and can weigh 900 to 2,100 pounds (400 to 1000 kg). The largest individuals on record have weighed as much as 2,500 pounds (1,130 kg). The heads and forequarters are massive, and both sexes have short, curved horns, which they can use in fighting for status within the herd and for defense. The American bison (Bison bison) is a bovine (related to cattle) mammal, also called the American buffalo. Two subspecies exist, the plains bison (Bison bison bison), which is distinguished by its smaller size and more rounded hump, and the wood bison (Bison bison athabascae), which is distinguished by its larger size and taller square hump. The wood bison is one of the world's largest species of cattle, surpassed in size only by the massive Asian gaur and wild Asian water buffalo. They are a keystone species-a force that shaped the ecology of the Great Plains. America's first thoroughfares were bison and deer traces, including the Cumberland Gap. Today's bison came from a few individuals that survived the slaughter of the buffalo. Once huge herds roamed the country. The animals are dangerous, and considered among the most dangerous of park animals. They will attack people if provoked. They can easly outrun humans and can run as fast as 35 mph. In Yellowstone, over 4 times as many people were killed or injured by bison, than by bears. As shown in the video, bison escape easily. Although they are large and don't look like they can, they have the ability to leap over a standard barbed-wire fence. I didn't have the camera turned on in time to catch the escapee jumping the fence. Also one very distressed young cow is shown at the end of the video. She was very vocal and called for a long time. She would run toward the stockaid. It appeared another was trapped in the stockaid and she was trying to communicate this. Buffalo are social animals who look out after each other. They are very vocal making sounds a lot of the time. Often these are a moo or low grunt. They like water and will stand and wade. They also wallow in the dust. The bison is closely related to cattle and able to breed with them. Bison and pronghorn antelope grazed together naturally in the great plains of the west. Bison (Bison bison), the pronghorn (Antilocapra americana), and the prairie dog (Cynomys ludovicianus) form a grazing association on the northern United States mixed-grass prairie. The pronghorn (Antilocapra americana), also called the pronghorn antelope or prong buck, is a species of ungulate inhabitating interior western North America. It is the only surviving member of the family Antilocapridae.[ It is thought to be the fastest land mammal in the New World. The top speed may be as high as 86 km/h. It is often cited as the second-fastest land animal, second to the cheetah. It is the fastest in sustained speeds because it can sustain high speeds longer than cheetahs. It probably evolved its running ability to escape from the recently extinct American cheetah, because its speed greatly exceeds that of extant North American predators. Its gaits also include a distinctive pronk.

Video shows a cat wondering what to do with an invading groundhog. The groundhog doesn't pay much attention to the cat. The groundhog (Marmota monax),also called the woodchuck or whistlepig, is a rodent of the family Sciuridae, and belongs to the group of large ground squirrels known as marmots. It is found in North America. It can grow to 32 in. long and weight 30 lbs. in exceptionally large individuals. It is good at digging, has strong claws, and has banded guard hairs that give it a frosted appearance. One groundhog lived to be 22, Wiarton Willie. Groundhogs make elaborate burrows, that are organized like a house. They normally have 2-5 entrances and can be up to 45 feet long and up to 5 feet underground. They often build a separate winter burrow for their hibernation. The burrow is dug below the frost line and remains at a stable temperature during the winter. Groundhogs are good swimmers, climbers, and fighters. They have large incisors and sharp strong claws. Their skin is very tough. They often stand on two legs and have a sharp high pitched whistle as a danger signal. They are responisible for the tongue twister, "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? — A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as he could if a woodchuck could chuck wood" They come out of their burrow on groundhogs day to check the weather. Punxsutawney Phil is the most famous groundhog.

Two huge grizzly bears demonstrate the fighting, digging, resting, foraging, and mating behavior shown by bear. Few videos exist of grizzly or even of bear mating behavior. Bears sometimes stand when they fight as people do, which makes them seem human (to people) and more interesting. The bear is the world's largest land carnivore. The grizzly, a huge animal, is a type of brown bear. Some of these can be enormous. The world's largest brown bear, a Kodiak Bear a subspecies of brown bear, weighted over 2,500 pounds and was almost 14 feet tall. It was the largest carnivore -- much larger than a lion or a tiger. The grizzly (Ursus arctos horribilis) is a type of brown bear that generally lives in western North America. Male grizzlies can range in weight from 400-1,200 lbs and stand at 8 ft tall on their hind legs. They coloration ranges from blond to deep brown or red. Often their fur seems to shimmer or glow. Although the polar bear is the largest carnivore as a species, one species of Brown bear the Kodiak may have larger individuals. The grizzly has a large hump over the shoulder area, which is a muscle mass used to power the forelimbs in digging. They can run up to 25 mph. They may be the most aggressive bear species. Although they are classified as carnivores, the are actually omnivores, which will eat about anything.

Video shows an in-flight attack of an osprey by a red-winged blackbird. Also shows Osprey diving after fish, feeding nestlings, tearing food apart, swooping, calling, defending nest, responding to intruders, protecting nestlings, nestling, flying and other characteristics of their lives. In one part of the video, the osprey carries a large chunk of fish in its talons. In other parts, osprey can be seen diving for prey. The osprey can fly to from Venezuela to Ohio in 2 weeks. It can fly at 60 mph and can cover 600 miles in one day. The Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) is also called the fish eagle, seahawk, or fish hawk. It is a huge fish-eating predator. This raptor is 24 in. in length, has a 6 ft. wingspan, and can weigh up to almost 5 lbs. Its head is white with a dark mask across the eyes that reaches to the sides of the neck. The irises of its eyes are golden to brown with a transparent bale blue nictitating membrane. It is whitish on the head and underparts with a brownish eyepatch and wings. It has a very complicated call, as shown here-with a large vocabulary of sounds. Its calls include sharp whistles, and a sort of shreek. In this video, as boaters approached the nest, the birds gave a great variety of calls. The Osprey can arch its wings, which gives it a gull type appearance. Ospreys normally mate for life and live 20-25 years. In heraldry, the Osprey is depicted as a white eagle. It is featured on 50 postage stamps. In mythology, a king became a sea eagle to attack his dauthter when she fell in love with Minos, king of Crete. It has been variously classified with the falcons, hawks, and eagles. It is unusual in that it is a single species that occurs nearly everywhere in the world and in all climates.

Video shows why bird feed disappears. This raccoon is quite intelligent. It first appeased the cat, which decided to just watch it, rather than try to chase it off. Then it went to the bird feeder. This is a specially made "coon-proof" feeder. It first looked at the nearby ladder and decided not to use it. Instead it climbed right up the "coon-proof" feeder stalk and helped itself. Note how it very neatly eats the grain that fell on its stomach, before it comes back down the pole. This is the second video of a series: 2 Raccoons 1 Cat Confrontation Standoff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-oll87Y5z0 In the first video the self confident cat (shown here) is confronted by 2 raccoons. She stands them off, although they are larger than she is. However, they are on her territory and don't want to cause too much trouble. The raccoon didn't stop at this, though, It continued over to the bird feeder and helped itself, as shown. It is interesting that the second raccoon bows its head to the cat as if to ask permission to continue. This same gesture is also often seen in whitetail deer. The raccoon (Procyon lotor) is also sometimes called the coon. It is a widespread omnivorous North American mammal. Raccoons live together in small loose groups. They are forest animals, but can also live in urban areas. They can be huge- the largest found weighted 61 lbs. They typically are large and can weight over 35 lbs. and be a yard long. They have a black "bandit's mask" around the eyes and their coat is a mixture of brown, grey, and black. They can be albino. They are highly intelligent, have manipulative hands, and wash their food (as shown here).
