It's boxing day 2007, Dan and Joshua have hardly seen each other all year. We're round Joshua's parents house for our annual social and prolonged Christmas activities. Pippa just bought Joshua a new Ukulele for Christmas and it's a beautiful instrument. I've just fixed Jeramy's (Joshua's Dad's) old guitar. Everyone is talking catchup banter in the background. It is now part of the music.
The Jam that you here on this video is a first time one off. Me and Joshua hadn't played together in almost a year and we'd been very busy on other things, Joshua has been working on his new film (a fantastic short vampire movie) and studying for his Phd. I'd been producing "The Pan I Am" album, working in the studio and doing live sound at the festivals in the summer.
So we meet up fro this annual event, and this is the first time my sister Tali hasn't been able to make it.
I was a little disapointed with the lack of progress that was made with Grampa Jones over the year, but then realized that Grampa Jones was always going to be a long hall. Grampa does things on his own time-frame and it's a very long time frame.
I hope you enjoy listening to this jam as much as I enjoyed playing it.
I'm so glad I managed to capture a special moment of my life that I will never forget. This is special.
All my Love
Dan
