A prequel to The Plight of the Half-Blood Prince.
SPOILERS ABOUND
I started making this before I read DH, but since my theory of 'Dumbledore was cursed by ring' was correct and nothing else was contradicted, I decided to finish it.
Alrigt, here's the plot:
Dumbledore has been cursed by the ring, and Snape is asked to kill him because not only is he going to die anyways, but Draco is out to kill him and Dumbledore doesn't wish for the poor boy's soul to be split.
Meanwhile--Narcissa [represented by Gwyneth Paltrow) is struggling with her husband's absence and his imprisonment in Azkaban. She's tortured by memories of her husband and is feeling impossibly lonely when she gets an unexpected visitor: Voldemort. He claims to have a task for her. Narcissa is first hesitant, but remembers that he is her husband's lord. She agrees and finds out the task is to enter Snape into an Unbreakable Oath to kill Dumbledore if Draco is unable (and Voldemort knows he will be unable). He does so to ensure Snape's loyalty.
Narcissa goes, acting her part wonderfully, and tricking her sister to come along with her, to bind them.
Of course, you know how the book goes. Snape is already under Dumbledore's orders and must agree. As he returns to school he is tortured by the idea of what he must do. He knows he will soon be forced to murder his greatest mentor. He begins to take it out on his students, because of the stress of knowing how this will soon effect himself, and even Harry (memory of him crying).
It goes to the argument between Snape and Dumbledore. Snape is unsure if he can kill DD, but no good comes from the argument. Snape has no choice.
And the scene on top of the astronomy tower unfolds. Snape still hesitates. He knows that as soon as he does this, the Order will hate him and he will be trapped in a position he wants no part of. But DD reminds him of his vow, by saying one word: Please... With a flash of memories reminding him of why he must (his loyalty to Dumbledore, the lives of Potter and Malfoy, his Vow to Narcissa, and his mistake of ever becoming a Death Eater), he fulfills his Vow and kills Dumbledore.
He grabs Draco and flees. Harry pursues and they fight. Harry calls him coward, and, in pain because of the loss and the choice he had to make, Snape screams at him "DON'T CALL ME COWARD!"
Snape returns to Voldemort who is pleased with him, but he is tortured by what he has done and what is left to come.
