A Channel 4 Dispatches documentary examining the ongoing persecution of Muslim people who convert to Christianity. These converts are now viewed as infidels and have become targets of the Islamic community. Documentary also provides examples of Muslim leaders practicing "Takiyya" with the reporter. "Takiyya" is the Islamic obligation to mislead and lie to infidels as a means of protecting Islam's reputation, and the duties and goals of the Muslim population. In particular, a high ranking Muslim leader attempts to diffuse the issue of Muslim violence against converts to Christianity by quoting an early verse in the Quran which states "there is no compulsion in religion". Muslims, however, are aware that this verse has been superseded by the latter verses of the Quran which advocate violence against non-Muslims and the Hadith which advocates killing those who leave Islam for another religion. This is the Islamic principle of abrogation where latter revelations from Allah overturn prior revelations from Allah. It is common knowledge in the Muslim world that "no compulsion in religion" has been abrogated - this particular Islamic scholar practices "takiyya" (deception) by citing it as evidence of an inherently peaceful Islam.
