PV of Vanessa Mae playing The Devil's Trill. An absolutely fantastic piece. ATTENTION! If you don't like this song/video/artist, do NOT leave insulting comments. I'm sick of seeing mindless gibberish, such as "shes fuking shit, she shud die!". I've had comments such as these, and ones insulting me, also. None of you know me, so I'd rather not be insulted. As I have said, the only reason I used the approval option for comments, was because I didn't want to see comments like the above example. Constructive criticism is very welcome, but mindless hate is certainly not. You can thank amd9012 for my bad mood, as I do not appreciate him calling me Hitler, or a Nazi. This is not me trying to censor opinions, this is me making sure no one spews hate through comments. Everyone who likes this video, or has been constructive about their criticism, thank you very much! It's nice to see that people still appreciate music, and politeness!

Giuseppe Tartini Devil's Trill Part 1 ============================= Home Page: http://www.oistrakh.com Discography: http://www.oistrakh.com/discographie_geffen.html ============================= Birth: September 30, 1908 in Odessa, Russia Death: October 24, 1974 in Amsterdam Nationality: Russian Occupation: violinist, pedagogue, conductor Oistrakh, David (Fyodorovich), great Russian violinist, outstanding pedagogue, and esteemed conductor; b. Odessa, Sept. 30, 1908; d. Amsterdam, Oct. 24, 1974. He studied violin as a child with Stoliarsky in Odessa, making his debut there at the age of 6, and then continued his studies with Stoliarsky at the Odessa Conservatory (1923-26); then appeared as soloist in Glazunov's Violin Concerto under the composer's direction in Kiev in 1927. In 1928 he went to Moscow and in 1934 he was appointed to the faculty of the Conservatory His name attracted universal attention in 1937 when he won first prize at the Ysaÿe Competition in Brussels, in which 68 violinists from 21 countries took part. This launched a career of great renown as a violin virtuoso. He played in Paris and London in 1953 with extraordinary success; made his first American appearances in 1955, as soloist with major American orchestras and in recitals, winning enthusiastic acclaim; also made appearances as a conductor from 1962. He died while on a visit to Amsterdam as a guest conductor with the Concertgebouw Orchestra Oistrakh's playing was marked, apart from a phenomenal technique, by stylistic fidelity to works by different composers of different historical periods. Soviet composers profited by his advice as to technical problems of violin playing; he collaborated with Prokofiev in making an arrangement for violin and piano of his Flute Sonata. A whole generation of Soviet violinists numbered among his pupils, first and foremost his son Igor (Davidovich) Oistrakh (b. Odessa, April 27, 1931), who has had a spectacular career in his own right; he won first prize at the International Festival of Democratic Youth in Budapest (1949) and the Wieniawski Competition in Poznan (1952); some critics regarded him as equal to his father in virtuosity; from 1958 he taught at the Moscow Conservatory. http://makemoves.ws - Residual income for Life, the gift that keeps on giving. Great collaboration of the beards. Exclusive Mixtape joint. Tattooed with pictures of AK47s, Miami's sixfoot, 300pound rap figure known as Rick Ross embraced his city's reputation for drug trafficking on his debut single, "Hustlin'," in 2006. While Atlanta and Houston artists were establishing their cities as Southern strongholds, Ross aimed at putting Miami back in rap's national spotlight. Ross, real name William Roberts, grew up in Carol City, FL, an impoverished northern suburb of Miami. Influenced by artists like Luther Campbell and the Notorious B.I.G., Roberts formed local rap group the Carol City Cartel and began rapping in the mid'90s. (He took his rap name from Los Angeles drug kingpin "Freeway" Rick Ross, who ran one of the largest crackcocaine distribution networks in the country during the '80s and early '90s.) Ross had a brief stint on Suave House Records, former label of Eightball MJG, before he ended up on Miamibased SlipNSide Records, the label home of Trick Daddy and Trina. During the early to mid2000s, he became popular and well known locally through touring with Trick Daddy and guestappearing on a few SlipNSlide releases, but didn't release any solo material until 2006. Once "Hustlin'" caught the ear of a few executives within the national industry, a bidding war ensued that included offers from Bad Boy CEO Sean "Diddy" Combs and The Inc. (formerly Murder Inc.) president Irv Gotti. Nonetheless, Def Jam president and veteran rapper JayZ signed Ross to a multimilliondollar deal. The Miami anthem "Hustlin'" went on to receive gold status from RIAA in May 2006 and sold over a million ringtone units before the physical release of his debut album, Port of Miami. Released in August 2006, Ross' debut was SlipNSide's first project under the Def Jam partnership. Freeway fast became a valuable member of the Roc-a-Fella family in the early 2000s. His ascent can be traced back to an agreement he made with fellow Philadelphia native Beanie Sigel. Acquaintances from the same local nightclub, the two shared admiration for one another and made a pact: the one who first landed a record deal would pull the other along. Sigel got the tap first and stayed true to his word; Freeway made his first major appearance in 2000, on "1-900-Hustler" -- a track on Jay-Z's Dynasty Roc la Familia album. A critical point came just after the album's release, when the MC was arrested for dealing drugs; forced to choose between two careers, he opted to stay in hip-hop, releasing the excellent debut full-length Philadelphia Freeway in early 2003. At the same time, Freeway was part of the State Property collective. His second album Welcome to the Hood dropped in 2004. 3rd Movememt of Tartini's Devil's trill sonata. This was part of my lecture recital. One of the issues I discussed was the problem of accompagniment. There is evidence that Tartini performed his sonatas with a cellist only.
