Ikegami, an electronic systems and equipment manufacturer, exhibited its latest surveillance network system which supports the JPEG2000 high-resolution compression format at the 2008 Security Show.
Compared with the JPEG compression format, JPEG2000 delivers a substantially high level of compression performance, a low level of deterioration of compressed images as well as a high level of error tolerance.
The surveillance system can highly efficiently save block-noise-free high-quality images.
In contrast to the conventional systems, Ikegami's surveillance network system employs triple scalability that allows it to seamlessly stream images of different resolution levels, different picture quality, and different frame rates.
Therefore, the system can adapt the resolution, quality and frame rate to the environment of each client.
The system supports Power over Ethernet transmission which enables power supply and image tarnsmission over a single cable, so the equipment just needs to be plugged into the Ethernet.
The system uses the Power over Ethernet compatible hub to connect to the network, so additional wiring is not necessary.
The "Simple Connection Tool," which comes with the system, allows for an easy set-up of all IP addresses for each camera.
Easy to install, the latest JPEG2000 monitoring system allows for an easy network set-up which usually involves a complex process.
