In case you didn't know, Mr. Big had two different guitar players in their roster; first was super-shredder Paul Gilbert (formerly of Racer X). Paul left Mr. big in 1999 and was later on replaced by former Poison axeman, Richie Kotzen. Both guitarists are monster players, but their techniques are very different from each other. Guitar geeks, notice how Richie plays the intro to Mr. Big's classic, GREEN-TINTED SIXTIES MIND. Taken from a Japan TV performance...

1-Gene Pitney-I'm Gonna Be Strong Woah. That voice. This is a live vocal, which is rare for Gene, who usually lip synched. Amazing! RIP Gene! 2-Gerry & The Pacemakers-How Do You Do It/I Like It At the peak of their popularity, Gerry and the boys sing two of their biggest hits. Well, just Gerry on the second one. I kinda feel bad for the other Pacemakers! Looks like Mr. Marsden was having fun, though! 3-Lenny Welch-Darling Take Me Back Very under-rated singer sings a very under-rated song. 4-Bobby Vee-Sharing You Last but not least, the one and only Bobby Vee lip-synchs a hit of three years before. One of his best hits. -BobbyVeeFan

1-The Fortunes-This Golden Ring/You've Got Your Troubles The Brits with the golden voices sing two songs, one a hit, one not. Both great songs, though. 2-Vogues-Five O Clock World Big hit by the boys from Pittsburgh. AT the top of their game here in 1966. 3-Barry Young-One Has My Name Close your eyes and it's Dean Martin. 4-Two People-Knock On Wood Odd group name, obviously they never went anywhere. But, for some reason, I like the song, even though it's not that great. Something attracts me to it, and I have no idea what. Enjoy! BobbyVeeFan

SHINDIG! - Sixties Superstars - part 1of6 =================================== 1) The Byrds - "Turn! Turn! Turn!" 2) Donovan - "Catch The Wind" 3) The Turtles - "Let Me Be" 4) Beau Brummels - "Laugh Laugh" ==================================== Shindig! was a rock 'n' roll series that ran from September 16, 1964 through January 8, 1966 on the ABC network. Shindig! was created and produced by Jack Good who had previously produced rock 'n' roll TV shows in his native Britain. There, he perfected his style of fast-paced rock music programing. In 1962, Good produced a pilot for American TV. The pilot, titled "Young America Swings the World," eventually became the blueprint for Shindig! Most of the top American and British rock/pop acts of the mid-1960s appeared on Shindig!. The British performers often appeared in segments taped in the U.K. Shindig! was different from previous U.S. rock 'n' roll programs. It featured non-stop music that, in most cases, was only interrupted by the commercial breaks. Shindig! started a trend in television which could probably best be described as "rock 'n' roll...with go-go dancers."
