URL: http://www.festivaldepoesiademedellin.org

Web: http://radiomanga.blogspot.com http://ostanimemusic.blogspot.com Head in the Clouds - Shuntaro Okino ANIME: Last Exile (2003) OST : Last Exile OST2 (2003) [audio] Last Exile (ラストエグザイル, Rasuto Eguzairu?) is a steampunk anime directed by Koichi Chigira for the anime studio Gonzo Digimation. It ran on TV Tokyo from April to September, 2003. It was brought to American audiences through Tech TV's (now G4) television program Anime Unleashed in March 2004. It ended in December of the same year, with a full season marathon on Christmas Day. In Canada, it began to air on the digital channel G4TechTV Canada on July 22, 2007, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. The animation features a combination of 2-D and 3-D CGI sequences; several key staff members such as the character designer Range Murata and Gonzo veteran Mahiro Maeda had previously worked on the production of Blue Submarine No. 6 which was done in a similar style. The series is also notable for having much of the text in English but written with Greek letters, with all numbers given in Roman numerals, though longer sections of visible text use actual Greek. source:wikipedia.org

This remarkable compilation follows an exchange of video letters, which took place between Shuji Terayama and Shuntaro Tanikawa in the months immediately preceding Terayama's death. You can think of it as a home video produced by two preeminent poets and interlayed with highly abstract philosophizing, slightly aberrant behavior and occasionally flamboyant visuals. This one is from Shuntaro Tanikawa to Shuji Terayama. -------------------------------------------- Shuntaro Tanikawa:(subtitles) This is my carpet. This is my battery. This is my meausure. This is my bamboo flyer This is my tangerine This is my doll. This is my drum. This is my whistle. These are my tissues. This is my picture. This is my hammock. This is my newspaper. This is my banana. This is my towel. This is my picture book. This is my beer. This is my memo. This is my letter. This is my back... my back scratcher. This is my record. These are my glasses. These are my cigarettes. This is my lighter. This is my memo book. This is my credit card. These are my keys. This is my money. This is my pencil. This is my bag. This is my watch. This is my shirt. This is also my shirt. This is my belt. These are my socks. This is my handkerchief. These are my trousers. These are my briefs. This is my left foot. This may be my blue heaven. Who am I? Is this my poem? --------------------------------------------

You can think of it as a home video produced by two preeminent poets and interlayed with highly abstract philosophizing, slightly aberrant behavior and occasionally flamboyant visuals. This is the answer to Tanikawa's question about identity (the other video). -------------------------------------------- Subtitles: (Shuji Terayama written in the paper) - Is it me? No, it's four characters written on a writing pad. (A photo of Shuji Terayama) - Is it me, then? No, it's just a photograph. Then, this voice that speaks, is it me? No, I'm not here anymore. Am I an invisible man? I don't know... perhaps... (lots of torn photographs appear) Perhaps I'm a Japanese. Perhaps I'm from Aomori Prefecture. Perhaps I'm a poet. Perhaps I'm not Shuntaro Tanikawa. Perhaps I'm a single man. Perhaps I'm a director of the Tenjo Sajiki acting company. Perhaps I'm an only son. Perhaps I'm a patient with liver troubles. Perhaps I'm an Earthian, one who can't decide on the best answer...
