IEEE spectrum (http://spectrum.ieee.org) takes you inside Kiva Systems' robotic warehouse, where orange robots make inventory move instead of workers. Over time the system becomes increasingly efficient, with the robots learning from the wisdom of the crowd. To read more about Kiva Systems and how their robots work, check out the article at http://www.spectrum.ieee.org/jul08/6380.

One of the great things about these little bots is that you can make them from scavenged materials. Use parts from broken electronics and bring them back to life as little robots!

Snake robots can use their many internal degrees of freedom to thread through tightly packed volumes and access locations that people and machinery otherwise cannot. These highly articulated devices can coordinate their internal degrees of freedom to perform a variety of locomotive gaits that go beyond the capabilities of conventional wheeled and legged robots. The true power of these devices is their versatility; they can crawl, climb, swim, and scale flights of stairs. Copyright 2008 Biorobotics Lab, Carnegie Mellon University. To celebrate Channel Frederator podcast's first anniversary, Frederator Studios has created Fred-Ex, an ongoing experiment in animation collaboration exploring the existence of robots. Frederator has assembled a global group of enthusiastic animation directors and creators to answer in a toon an age-old question: "What is it like to be a robot?" THE SECRET LIFE OF ROBOTS is the first installment of the Fred-Ex series. Started in July, exec producers/contributing animators Dan Meth and Lee Rubenstein chose 15 Channel Frederator alumni to animate on the project, randomly matching each of them with a single word. They were given two months to produce 10-20 seconds of original content each, using their subject to depict a specific aspect of robot existence. The compilation film is a quirky look into the lives of robots, with each individual cartoon in it reflecting the creator's individual artistic style, and, at times, seriously twisted sense of humor. Animation talent on Fred-Ex include Bernard Derriman (EVERYONE ELSE HAS HAD MORE SEX THAN ME), Doug Bresler (DOOGTOONS) and Seed Animation (FREE RANGE), as well as more than a dozen other filmmakers from five countries. THE SECRET LIFE OF ROBOTS merges merging Flash, stop-motion, hand-drawn, and 3D CGI techniques. OFFICIAL SELECTION AT 2007 PLATFORM INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION FESTIVAL

GET THE DVD! http://www.howtodotherobot.com so you think you can dance huh? you think so? Hay You! This is a lesson from the totally dope, amazingly random, stupendously good HOW TO DO THE ROBOT instructional DVD. But hey, don't trust us! Check out the reviews on Amazon. Search "How To Do The Robot" or go there directly: http://www.amazon.com/How-Do-Robot-Breakdance-Instructional/dp/B000MR9JA8/ref=pd_bbs_2/103-3602944-6639036?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1173954451&sr=8-2 Anyway! In this lesson you will learn how to properly do the robot stop. Like the click when it locks into place. Like the sound of metal against metal when those gears find a resting point. Sharp like steel, yet fluid like water, the robot stop, once mastered, will make people think that they are on drugs while they watch you move. Why? Because you look so u n r e a l . Oh Yah! By the way, We're ELASTIC ILLUSION. http://www.elasticillusion.com We are here for you. We want you to be a part of our lives and we look forward to developing this relationship with you. Comment on the video, we reply. Send us a message, we reply. Buy our DVD, we smile. And as the fate of the entire universe rests solely in your hands, we highly suggest you finally get around to watching "The Secret"! You will not be disappointed. http://www.thesecret.tv/home.html WE LOVE YOU! Brit, Tyson, and Ace
