If one is breaking away from an organized religion to become spiritual, what are your suggestions? Many people are tired of organized religions especially Christianity because the demands placed on them have become burdensome. Feelings of guilt, the requirement to confess sins and so on are very heavy on people. In Judaism, particularly, God is a vengeful God. It has made followers tired of God. In the New Testament Jesus amended many of the Old Testament rules. Tit for tat was replaced by love and compassion but not enough was done. Now, people want to find themselves, who they really are. They go in search but become prey to fake swamis and gurus or psychologists or psychiatrists or western thinkers like Dyer, Chopra or Kayne Wilburn and others. Until they find the real teacher, an enlightened master, they lack guidance. There are many paths to find God. This God is not the God of Christianity or Judaism or Hinduism. This God is hidden within you. By expanding yourself you become God. To be guided to find this, you need an enlightened person. Put effort to find the right teacher, the live teacher who has no interest in money or possessions like churches. An enlightened teacher will break your old ideologies and make a new person out of you. You will begin to blossom under this guidance. Your fragrance will spread among others. If you can change one person you can change the world. I am teaching one person at a time to bring change one at a time. I will guide you in the right path. Original Video Description Enlightened Master Dr. Acharya Shree Yogeesh gives suggestions to spiritual persons and truth seekers who are putting religion behind them, and wish to seek truth. Topics: Leaving Organized Religion, Spiritual, Spirituality, Church, Orthodox, Christian, Catholic, Islam, Judaism, religion, guilt, enlightenment, leaving religious life, leading a spiritual life

In 1999, he received the National Medal of Science. His most recent book is Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed (2004). Professor Diamond argues that religion has encompassed at least four independent components that have arisen or disappeared at different stages of development of human societies over the last 10,000 years.

A Smiling Zebra exclusive! A historic and rare uncut interview with Academy Award winning actor Jon Voight. Shot in 1986 by yours truly Bill Day, with Rosa Calaf doing the interview. It covers a variety of topics that offer insight to Jon's eclectic philosophical and religious views. Jon was raised Catholic, but began a broader spiritual inquiry during the 1980's. At the time of this interview Jon was involved with the Self Realization Fellowship - founded by Paramahansa Yogananda, widely revered as a spiritual figure. His book, "Autobiography of a Yogi" is touted to have introduced truth-seekers all over the world to India's age-old philosophy of Yoga and its time-honored tradition of meditation. Voight later became associated with Judaism and remains involved with the Chabad-Lubavitch movement- one of the largest Hasidic movements in Orthodox Judaism. Jon also became interested in Native American Religions with a special interest in Hopi Indian beliefs. He also has interests in Buddhism.
