BaGauZhang Qi Gong: Teaching one of my kung fu friends Robert James A.K.A satori sciences of youtube the first few moves out of my BaGuaZhang Qi Gong set. This Baguazhang QiGong is designed to increase the health through a series of exercises based on the breath and movements designed to build the increased oxegen intake to various parts of the body. What is Qi Gong? It translates as Breathwork. Qigong has been practiced for centuries to prevent and cure illness and increase the quality of life. It is best described as an energy exercise that balances and amplifies the intrinsic energy in the body. Ba-Gua Qi Gong A Survey conducted by the national Sporting Goods Association revealed that 20.2 million people in the United States walk twice a week as an exercise and health fitness practice. Ba-Gua with its specialized method of walking, may not be factored into that statistic, but it has been used for over a 100yrs to promote health. Studies by Kang Ge Wu of the Beijing Physical Culture Institute demonstrated that Ba-Gua walking produces dramatic health improvements among senior citizens. Among a test group of 30 males between the ages of 60 and 82, Wu's scientific study showed that Ba-Gua practice resulted in increased joint flexibility and improved nervous system, cardiovascular and respiratory function.
