I also forgot to mention that a poser can pose as anything, not just a skater, i used skaters as an example b/c its such a vital park of so many skatepark skater's vocabulary.
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn says that a poseur is a person who habitually pretends to be something he/she is not.
this tells me that just because you dont have a certain skill set, doesnt make you any less of a skater than a pro skater.
i dont hear people call other posers when im skating street, and this is why: when you street skate you are generally with a group of ppl cruising the city for spots (why would your crew call you a poser?) and if you do happen to run into another crew you are spending your time skating rather than ripping on them for sucking (although you may joke about it).
maybe its just like this where i live, and maybe its just like that b/c we go in groups ranging from 2 skaters to 12 skaters, idk... all ik is that ive never felt unsafe while skating with my guys and i would never risk that by calling one of them a poser and causing that person to feel alienated by me and therefor, not defend me if i need it.
CR FOR LIFE
sorry for the read, thats just how it goes in my skate vlogs
