The original a-side version from 1975 by the band Arrows. Produced by Mickie Most and written by the band's Alan Merrill and Jake Hooker, this song was later covered by Joan Jett, Britney Spears, and many more. Lead vocals & bass guitar by Alan Merrill, guitar & backing vocals by Jake Hooker, and drums and backing vocals by Paul Varley. The Arrows released both an a-side version and a b-side version of this particular song. Having their own TV series, the band recorded many versions of their songs for performance on the show, in accordance with musician's union rules at the time. The video was made in three locations. The park is Berkeley Square, London England, W1, the street scenes are on Charles Street, same area. The performance was filmed on Quay Street in Manchester England, at the Granada/ITV studios. This clip aired on Granada/ITV in 1976, produced by Muriel Young and directed by Peter Walker. Clip trivia: The mystery man standing by the tree with the Arrows at the end of this clip is Monsieur Kamayatsu of the legendary Japanese band The Spiders. Cosmic oddity: Arrows singer Alan Merrill and Joan Jett are both left handed, but play their instruments right handed. More trivia- Joan Jett was initially introduced to her manager Kenny Laguna by a tv producer named Alan Sacks. Arrows singer Alan Merrill's legal birth name is Allan Sachs, same pronounciation. A little eerie, don't you think?

John Thain, who led NYSE Euronext for four-years, is leaving his job to take over the top spot at Merrill Lynch. His experience, which includes an executive position at Goldman Sachs, will come in handy, many analysts said. Thain now has to put the pieces back together after bad bets prompted Merrill Lynch to announce the biggest quarterly loss in its history.

This was my dad's last flight as a check pilot in June of 2001. He was fortunate enough to fly the Commemorative Air Forces B-29 called "FiFi." It was (and still is) the last flying B-29 in the world. Since he never got a proper sendoff from the airline flying he did for so long, we thought it would be fun to celebrate his last B-29 flight. This was my first editing attempt using Apple's iMovie. I rode in the back seat of a T-6 with the canopy removed and my brother was in the fire truck. It was quite a thrill. The inside B-29 shots are from a flight I took in June of 1997. Note the Boeing 307 parked on the ramp as the B-29 taxis in. That was shot two weeks before that same Boeing 307 took a swim in Lake Washington. The 307 is on display now at the Smithsonian and the B-29 flies from Midland, TX. Take a look at their site: http://www.cafb29b24.org/ If you get a chance to see this airplane fly, don't miss it. Music: The first song is "String of Pearls" and the second song is "In the Mood." Both are by Glenn Miller.

Group Sounds veterans, the ancient Tokyo band Vodka Collins perform W.O.W. (world of whores) in Tokyo 1997, at Nissan Power Station. A cynical lyric deriding the flesh trade is the theme of this punk rock song, which appeared on the band's Pink Soup album out that year. You strut it down the street cruising for some action you're always dressed to thrill your victims to extraction In a world of whores love is just a vice In a world of whores every heart is chrystalized ice You soak 'em like a sponge for every penny you can get and when you drain the blood you still ain't finished with 'em yet In a world of whores love is just a vice In a world of whores every heart is chrystalized ice I wonder how it feels being so cruel underneath I watch you kickin up your spike heels and hissing insults through your teeth In a world of whores love is just a vice In a world of whores every heart is chrystalized ice Words & music Alan Merrill 1996. Vodka Collins started as a band in 1971, and have made 5 albums over 4 decades, with long breaks in between reunions. The band members are Monsieur Kamayatsu, Alan Merrill, Hiroshi Oguchi, and Masayoshi Kabe. Vodka Collins is a sort of Japanese supergroup. Merrill is the former lead singer of the Arrows (UK) and has played guitar with the bands Meat Loaf, and Derringer. A foreigner, he started his career in Japan with a group sounds called The Lead. Mounsieur Kamayatsu was a founding member of the group sounds sensation The Spiders. Masayoshi "Mabo" Kabe was with the hit Yokohama based band The Golden Cups. Hiroshi Oguchi was drummer of the bad boys of the group sounds, The Tempters, who were also enormously popular.

This machinima video picks up where the 8th Doctor movie leaves off. The Doctor leaves Dr Grace and the year 2000 behind him as the TARDIS goes haywire, ending up in 1978 Cardiff Wales. A few members of Torchwood have taken it upon themselves to experiment with synthetic vampire blood on human females. Rocker Alan Merrill barely escapes a vampire attack as he winds up in the TARDIS with the 8th Doctor. Can they stop Torchwood before it is too late? By request, I've uploaded this audio only, digitally remastered version, of the 1950 recording of The Pearl Fishers Duet sung by Jussi Björling and Robert Merrill. Renato Cellini leads the RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra. If you get a chance go out and buy this CD. I'm on a quest to make sure that this new generation of opera lovers not forget who Björling was. Pavarotti is not the only tenor that ever lived and by no means the best. Long live Björling and Merrill!
