Taken from the album "Superangelic Hate Bringers" Dragonheart Records / SPV GmbH 2007 www.macbeth.it ________________________________ "Superangelic Hate Bringers" is the brilliant new and ambitious album by MACBETH. Morena, Andreas, Fabrizio, Max and Sem have produced their best work ever : ten pieces which go well beyond the confines of pure GOTHIC METAL. A more aggressive sound, production with a modern edge and a splendid performance by the band make this fourth MACBETH album the most precious work in their career. The trademark which has been refined through time, featuring solid rhythms and irresistible melodies, is taken to an excess here, and together with the excellent interpretations by the singers Andreas and Morena makes "Superangelic Hate Bringers" personal and fascinating. "Without You", which is the source of the first video of the band, and "To My Falling Star" offer a new interpretation of GOTHIC METAL and pieces like "Watch Us Die" or "H.A.T.E." are evidence of how much more aggressive the new sound is. After the promotion of the previous "Malae Artes", which had brought MACBETH in tour from Europe to South America and even in the Middle East, the band is ready to handle a new challenge, launching on the market the much expected new album, produced between Italy and Iceland. The luxurious digipack gives further value to "Superangelic Hate Bringers".

Judi Dench ... Lady Macbeth Denyse Alexander ... Gentlewoman John Woodnutt ... Doctor from the 1979 TV version of the Trevor Nunn production by the Royal Shakespeare Company from "Shakespeare's Work" (1847) by Gulian Crommelin Verplanck: It was, I believe, Madame de Staël, who said, somewhat extravagantly, that the smell is the most poetical of the senses. It is true that the more agreeable associations of this sense are fertile in pleasing suggestions of placid, rural beauty, and gentle pleasures. Shakespeare, Spencer, Ariosto, and Tasso abound in such allusions. Milton, especially, who luxuriates in every variety of "odorous sweets" and "grateful smells", delighted sometimes to dwell on the "sweets of groves and fields", the native perfumes of his own England--"The smell of grain, or tedded grass, or kine, Or Dairy"-- and sometimes pleasing his imagination with the "gentle gales" laden with "balmy spoils" of the East; and breathing--"Sabean odours from the spicy shores of Araby the blest". But the smell has never been successfully used as a means of impressing the imagination with terror, pity, or any of the deeper emotions, except in this dreadful sleep-walking scene of the gulty Queen, and in one parallel scene of the Greek drama, as wildly terrible as this. It is that passage of the 'Agamemnon' of Aeschylus, where the captive prophetess, Cassandra, wrapt in visionary inspiration, scents first the smell of blood, and then the vapours of the tomb breathing from the palace of Atrides, as ominous of his apporaching murder. go here to see that scene of Cassandra from 'Agamemnon' (the chorus speaks of her smelling): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPikNIfBGIo

Fascinating facts about William Shakespeare: -William Shakespeare was born on April 23 and died on April 23, evidence indicates. -In his will, Shakespeare left his wife his "second-best" bed. -Shakespeare's name may have meant "Shaker of Spears," indicating warrior ancestry. -Boys and men played all the parts in Shakespeare's plays in Elizabethan times. -Dictionaries as we know them today were not available in Shakespeare's time. -Sir William Davanant (1606-1668), godson of Shakespeare and poet laureate of England, claimed to be Shakespeare's illegitimate son. -Moons of the planet Uranus are named after characters in Shakespeare's plays. For example, two moons discovered in 1787 were named Oberon and Titania, after characters in A Midsummer Night's Dream. A moon discovered in 1986 was named Juliet, after a character in Romeo and Juliet. Two moons discovered in 1997 were named Caliban and Sycorax, after characters in The Tempest. -The ceiling of Shakespeare's stages was called "The Heavens." -Shakespeare was said to have enjoyed playing the part of the ghost in Hamlet. -Shakespeare also performed as Adam in As You Like It. -Actors performing in Shakespeare's time usually received only copies of their parts, not entire plays. -Shakespeare was 17 or 18 when he married. His wife, Anne Hathaway, was 26. -The Globe Theatre burned down in 1613 after a canon was fired to announce the entrance of King Henry VIII. The canon fire ignited the thatched roof. The Globe was rebuilt soon thereafter but torn down in 1644 in response to Puritan zealotry against theatre performances. -Shakespeare's first child was born six months after his marriage. -The oldest existing copy of a complete American-made feature film is that of Richard III, a 1912 silent movie based on Shakespeare's play. It was produced by M. B. Dudley Amusement Company. -Some researchers claim that Queen Elizabeth I wrote Shakespeare's plays. Few scholars take this claim seriously. -Between 1890 and 1891, an avid Shakespeare reader decided to bring to the United States all species of birds in Shakespeare's works that were not native to the U.S. One of these birds was the starling, a passerine (perching) bird. It is a destructive bird which ruins grain and fruit crops. The starling also takes over nests of other birds and mocks their songs when it sings. -Shakespeare and other writers of his time probably did most of their writing during the day to avoid paying for the expensive candles required for nighttime writing. -Because many people in Shakespeare's time--including King James I--believed in the power of witches, Macbeth was a play that unnerved audiences. -No one knows how Shakespeare died. Among the possibilities are kidney disease, murder most foul, and too much to drink. -Shakespeare was a Roman Catholic when he died, Anglican Archdeacon Richard Davies, of Lichfield, England, reported about three decades after Shakespeare died. -U.S. President Abraham Lincoln enjoyed reading Shakespeare. -Many of the greatest works in classical music were inspired by Shakespeare plays. Examples are Sergei Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet, Giuseppe Verdi's operas Macbeth and Otello (Othello), and Felix Mendelssohn's orchestral overture A Midsummer Night's Dream. -The river running through Shakespeare's hometown is the Upper Avon, not the Avon. In Shakespeare's time, the town was called Stratford, not Stratford-upon-Avon. -When Thomas Edison was a child, his mother frequently read Shakespeare to him. -Shakespeare's original grave marker showed him holding a bag of grain. Citizens of Stratford replaced the bag with a quill in 1747, perhaps in anticipation of the tourists who would come to see the final resting place of the world's greatest wielder or quills.

James McAvoy's (Joe Macbeth) first roles were in David Hayman's The Near Room in 1995 and then as Anthony Balfour in Pat Barker's Regeneration in 1997. McAvoy got his first big international break with a role in the Steven Spielberg-produced miniseries Band of Brothers. His first international starring role was as Leto Atreides II in the 2003 Sci Fi Channel miniseries Frank Herbert's Children of Dune (adapted from Frank Herbert's novels). The same year he also appeared in several episodes of the BBC sitcom Early Doors and co-starred in Paul Abbott's acclaimed thriller serial State of Play. In 2004 he starred as Steve McBride in another Abbott-written drama series, Shameless on Channel 4, for which he was nominated for the British Comedy Award for Best TV Newcomer. He also appeared in Wimbledon as Paul Bettany's obnoxious brother, Carl Colt. In 2005, he played Ben in the Royal Court Theatre's production Breathing Corpses, He also played Macbeth in the four-part BBC production Shakespeare Retold. In 2006, McAvoy starred alongside Forest Whitaker as Dr. Garrigan in The Last King of Scotland. The film is an adaptation of Giles Foden's novel of the same name and gives a fictionalized account of the regime of the brutal Ugandan dictator Idi Amin during the 1970's, as seen by his (fictional) personal physician and advisor. The character of Garrigan is a composite of several men who were close to Amin, but Garrigan most resembles Englishman Bob Astles, who was a top advisor to Amin during his regime and became known in Uganda as "The White Rat."[8] In a none-too-subtle parallel in the film, Dr. Garrigan is referred to as Amin's "White Monkey." McAvoy also took the lead role in 2006's Starter for Ten. The film follows the exploits of the nerdy Brian Jackson as he navigates his first year at Bristol University during the mid-1980's. Starter for Ten was adapted from the novel of the same name by David Nicholls. McAvoy won the new Mary Selway/Orange Rising Star Award at the 2006 BAFTA Awards. He also completed filming of Penelope in 2006, co-starring Christina Ricci, but due to distribution problems the film was not put in wide release until 2008. In 2007 McAvoy appeared in two critically acclaimed films — Becoming Jane and Atonement, the latter of which is based on Ian McEwan's award-winning 2001 novel. McAvoy was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in Atonement. He also workshopped scenes for the movie Three Way Split for directors Neil Hunter and Tom Hunsinger, but will not take part in the actual film. McAvoy has a new film set to be released on 27 June, 2008 called Wanted, based on the comic book miniseries by the same name. McAvoy plays Wesley Gibson, a twenty-five year old employee who works in a cubicle. He is offered the opportunity to avenge the death of his father, who was an assassin. He is then trained by his father's partner, Sloan (Morgan Freeman), and by Sloan's second-in-command, Fox, played by Angelina Jolie. He appears in the forthcoming films The Last Station, based on the 1990 novel by Jay Parini about the final year of Leo Tolstoy's life, and Perrier's Bounty, a comedy/thriller set in Dublin. Both movies will also star his wife, Anne-Marie Duff.

Keeley Hawes (Ella Macbeth) has appeared in several successful adaptations of classic and modern novels, including Tipping the Velvet (BBC Two, 2002), Wives and Daughters (1999), Our Mutual Friend (1998), and Under the Greenwood Tree (2005). Hawes has also appeared in films such as The Avengers (1998), The Last September, Complicity (2000) and A Cock and Bull Story (2006), and three music videos, for the singles "Saturday Night" by Suede, Common People by Pulp and "She's a Star" by James. On 23 February 2006, it was revealed that Hawes had replaced Jonell Elliott as the voice of Lara Croft. She voiced the role of Eidos Interactive's globe-trotting adventurer in Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend, now under the reins of Crystal Dynamics. She reprised her role in the 2007 remake of the original Tomb Raider game, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary. In December 2007 it was confirmed that Hawes will continue providing Lara's voice in Tomb Raider: Underworld. In the Vicar of Dibley (2 episodes 2006-2007), she played Rosie, the sister of Harry (Richard Armitage), who eventually marries Geraldine (Dawn French). She was also cast as Jane in the 2007 comedy Death at a Funeral, where she plays the supportive wife of her off-screen husband Matthew Macfadyen, whose father's funeral turns into a disaster. In 2008, Hawes starred in the film Flashbacks of a Fool with Daniel Craig, where she plays the adult version of his younger sister, Jessie. In September 2008, she will begin shooting the second series of the smash-hit television show Ashes to Ashes, in which she has the lead female role of Alex Drake.

Macbeth is one of Shakespeare's shortest plays, probably composed in late 1606 or early 1607, it's the last of Shakespeare's four great tragedies, the others being Hamlet, King Lear and Othello. Some scholars have suggested that scenes were excised from the Folio version and lost that the play we know as Macbeth is only part of the original. There are some loose ends in the text of the play that would seem to suggest that this is true. However, if scenes were cut, these cuts were masterfully done, as none of the story line is lost and the play is incredibly powerful without them. In fact, the play's length gives it a compelling force. On the level of human evil, Shakespeare's Scottish tragedy is about Macbeth's bloody rise to power, including the murder of the Scottish king, Duncan, and the guilt-ridden pathology of evil deeds generating still more evil deeds. As an integral part of this thematic web is the play's most memorable character, Lady Macbeth. Like her husband, Lady Macbeth's ambition for power leads her into an unnatural, phantasmagoric realm of witchcraft, insomnia and madness. But while Macbeth responds to the prophecies of the play's famous trio of witches, Lady Macbeth goes even further by figuratively transforming herself into an unnatural, desexualized evil spirit. The current trend of critical opinion is toward an upward reevaluation of Lady Macbeth, who is said to be rehumanized by her insanity and her suicide. Much of this reappraisal of Lady Macbeth has taken place in discussions of her ironically strong marriage to Macbeth, a union that rests on loving bonds but undergoes disintegration as the tragedy unfolds.

ShakespeaRe-Told is the umbrella title for a series of four television adaptations of William Shakespeare's plays: Much Ado About Nothing, The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream and... Peter Moffat's updating of Shakespeare's darkest tragedy MACBETH - set in a three-star restaurant owned by celebrity chef Duncan Docherty, with Joe Macbeth as the sous chef. Joe has worked hard to make Duncan Docherty's restaurant a success. So, when he's told it'll all be his one day, what's to stop him taking it now? James McAvoy, Keeley Hawes, Vincent Regan, Joseph Millson, Richard Armitage, Toby Kebbell..., all turn in ferocious performances which call to mind the best of film noir. Macbeth is in my opinion the finest of the lot. Enjoy.
