Shiden'issen Jujutsu - Martial Arts of Tucson dojo. The Samurai Arts of Shiden'issen Jujutsu are an original and diverse martial discipline of war. It is a style which focuses on modern-practical self-defense and traditional sword arts. Its fighting method consists of throws, immobilizations, grappling and submissions. Jujutsu was a warriors art, practiced by the Samurai of Japan. Over the centuries hundreds of jujutsu styles evolved. Because of the devastating nature of jujutsu techniques, it was not at all suited to sport competition. In modern times, Jujutsu can refer to a martial art in which all aspects of combat are taught together.Shiden'issen Jujutsu is an amalgam of the traditional and the modern. • Kenjutsu, the Japanese art of swordsmanship, concerned with accurate sword technique and fighting with the sword in a realistic context against an opponent. The practice of swordsmanship improves one's skills of balance, coordination of mind and body, and increases awareness of detail. • Iaijutsu, the art of attacking on the sword draw itself. Iaijutsu teaches how to draw quickly and in such a fashion as to negate an opponents attack with finality. For the Samurai, any threat could be rapidly, even instinctively, identified and responded to immediately. •Jujutsu, the art of unarmed combat, including ground fighting techniques. A great emphasis is placed on maintaining the attackers flow of momentum (which follows from the art's name), in which 'ju' connotes pliability and suppleness. Movements tend to emphasize circularity, and capitalize on an attacker's momentum and openings in order to place a joint in a compromised position or to break balance as preparatory for a take-down or throw. In 2006 i had the chance to introduce "Go Shin DO Aiki Jujutsu" to a hand full of Bruneians in Brunei Darussalam in one of the government-owned multi-purpose sports building. The building is not owned by any individual clubs or society, the building is also being used used by several other sports and martial arts societies. Because the room is regularly used by the Aikido Club, that is why you see the Aikido banner in the background. The room was hired during the weekend to conduct this class. The room was not used by any martial arts society or sports club at that day. We used the room because of its matted ground facilities. Due to legal and organizational reasons, i have to state this video is NOT affiliated to Brunei Darussalam Aikido Federation or the International Aikido Federation. The methods, techniques or movements that i teach does not in any way disrespect nor am i trying to influence thier official syllabus in any way. I am teaching aikijujutsu to willing individual from varied martial arts backgrounds such as silat, karate, kungfu and kendo, etc, as personal developement and the sharing of knowledge. In no means what soever was the class organized exclusiveley for aikido practitioners, it was welcome for all. I have had emails asking what and how i do jujitsu, though this clip is only scratching the surface but does answer most questions asked. It is one of the most effective martial arts in the world, and to restrict its teaching or not having the open-mind to learn something that has such great value is just a loss. Commonly people who are insecure about thier own art or have never been exposed to and have never felt Aiki Jujutsu will tend to write/say negative comments or compare and argue this doesnt work, that is not real, this is better than that, that is better than this; my only sincere advice is to please do your own research before accepting or be influenced by negative people or passing any comments. Alternatively, You can contact me directly and ask. FREEDOM OF CHOICE The art is open to all who has the desire to learn, and it will be taught with full openess. I am in no means trying to compare which is better, aikdo or jujutsu. Both arts are amazing. I have learned, Aikikai & Yoshinkan Aikido, Jiu Jitsu, Judo and aikijujustsu to know that comparing them to each other or mixing them with other martial arts is disrespectful to the Japanese culture and its history. I do NOT mix Japanese martial arts with Silat to make it more effective. They are effective on thier own under certain situations. I teach via the syllabus. Im not one to be lured into arguements or debates. My teaching methods are simple, I let my movements do the talking rather then my mouth; Then only you can decide what is the TRUTH and if its the right thing for you. Everyone from different martial arts backgrounds are welcome to train or cross-train. NO POLITICS. Knowledge is there to be shared, not restrained. If you like it come and train, if you dont you are free to practice other martial arts styles. I do not have to lie and fabricate stories to my students to scare them from learning other martial arts, my movements speaks for themselves. WHAT IS AIKI JUJUTSU? Aiki Jujutsu, is a traditional Japanese martial art, once taught in secrecy, it is one of the deadliest art ever used in the Samurai in battlefieds of Japan, when weapons are lost in the heat of battle. It is the origin and forefather of modern Aiki styles and martial arts such as Aikido, Judo, Hapkido, Kyusho, several styles of Karate and ninjutsu arts. Using sword movements in its empty hands techniques, kendo practitioners will find similarity of movements in footwork and hand cutting lines. AN EFFICIENT DEFENSIVE ART. Practitioners learn to avoid conflict whenever possible. They also learn to take control of difficult situations and to eliminate the threat to their personal safety and those close to them when violence is unavoidable. Rather than using strength and meeting force with force, practitioners learn to redirect the attacker's energy by using leverage and understanding of balance (kuzushi). This helps neutralize the attacker's size/strength advantage. A wide variety of techniques are taught to prepare practitioners for a broad range of situations; other than hand strikes, kicks, grabs etc. Aiki Jujutsu is suitable for everyone; regardless of your fitness level, gender or age, which makes it devastating when used to defend oneself or loved ones on the streets. It will instill you with a new level of self confidence that you can really depend on. Unarmed Aiki Jujutsu techniques include:- - pressure point striking techniques, - throws & projections, - chokes, - nerve attacks, - joint control, restrain & manipulation, - grappling - etc; defending against:- - bats and other impact weapons - bottles and broken bottles, - knives and other edged weapons, - other street weapons, - single or multiple attackers - etc making it ideal for military, police and the common public civilian purposes. MY AIM; My aim is to promote Brunei Darussalam to the eyes of the world through martial arts. I have trained under masters and taught students from all over the world; english, french, libian, irish, malaysian, filipino, welsh, italian, german, palastinians, south-african, ghanan, americans, canadian, algerian, china chinese, iraqi, hong kong chinese, polish, carrabeans, israeli, jamaican, pakistani, russians, somali, bangladeshi, greeks, gibraltar, etc. In doing so i have done my part to make people curious and introduce Brunei Darussalam to foreigners and what we Bruneians have to offer. I will continue to do so. MY SINCERE APPRECIATIONS TO; I would like to thank Pg M.Alexander Pg Hj Md Don and ALL his friends, colleagues and individuals who participated and giving me the chance to introduce this efficient art and having the open-mind to learn different things and selflessly supporting a local Bruneian against all odds. Selfless people are very rare, im fortunate to have met these group of people. I would also like to thank Md Harris Mohamad for his excellent uke skills. And special appreciation to my brother Mordene Mornie (Dylan) for his patience and dedication. INFORMATION For Serious Enquiries only.
