Brenda Hillman uses language to explore the edges of consciousness, realms where the division between the sensual and the spiritual begins to dissolve. Her six books include Loose Sugar and her most recent, Cascadia. She's received two Pushcart Prizes, a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, and the Delmore Schwartz Memorial Award for Poetry.
