People better start thinking about growing at least some of their own food. With food prices rising and shortages and food riots occurring globally, it is time to start becoming more self-sufficient, growing our food locally. Visit this website for inspiration on this topic: www.pathtofreedom.com

VVH-TV News Special Organic Farming: Can It Feed Us? Part 1 Karl Grossman Chief Investigative Reporter examines Organic Farming on Eastern Long Island. What is organic farming? Organic farming can be defined as an approach to agriculture where the aim is to create integrated, humane, environmentally and economically sustainable agricultural production systems. Maximum reliance is placed on locally or farm-derived renewable resources and the management of self-regulating ecological and biological processes and interactions in order to provide acceptable levels of crop, livestock and human nutrition, protection from pests and diseases, and an appropriate return to the human and other resources employed. Reliance on external inputs, whether chemical or organic, is reduced as far as possible. In many European countries, organic agriculture is known as ecological agriculture, reflecting this reliance on ecosystem management rather than external inputs. The objective of sustainability lies at the heart of organic farming and is one of the major factors determining the acceptability or otherwise of specific production practices. The term 'sustainable' is used in its widest sense, to encompass not just conservation of non-renewable resources (soil, energy, minerals) but also issues of environmental, economic and social sustainability. The term 'organic' is best thought of as referring to the concept of the farm as an organism, in which all the component parts - the soil minerals, organic matter, micro-organisms, insects, plants, animals and humans - interact to create a coherent and stable whole. The key characteristics of organic farming include: protecting the long term fertility of soils by maintaining organic matter levels, encouraging soil biological activity, and careful mechanical intervention; providing crop nutrients indirectly using relatively insoluble nutrient sources which are made available to the plant by the action of soil micro-organisms; nitrogen self-sufficiency through the use of legumes and biological nitrogen fixation, as well as effective recycling of organic materials including crop residues and livestock manures; weed, disease and pest control relying primarily on crop rotations, natural predators, diversity, organic manuring, resistant varieties and limited (preferably minimal) thermal, biological and chemical intervention; the extensive management of livestock, paying full regard to their evolutionary adaptations, behavioural needs and animal welfare issues with respect to nutrition, housing, health, breeding and rearing; careful attention to the impact of the farming system on the wider environment and the conservation of wildlife and natural habitats. Tiger farming is a disgusting practice of keeping tigers locked up in horrible conditions to be used later and killed for their fur, bones, and body parts. The only country that does this is China. Tiger parts have been used in Chinese medicines, wines, and other things for ages, and tigers have always been thought to have some sort of spiritual value by them. Still, tiger parts shouldn't be used by them. Tigers are an endangered animal, and are being wiped off the face of the earth! The medicines don't work, and the wine and other products do nothing either. Nothing, at all, other than take the life of a beautiful animal. Sign the petition here: http://capwiz.com/bigcatrescue/issues/alert/?alertid=9952801&type=CU I would like to note that I don't hate Chinese people, and I know that not every single person in China uses tiger parts, or believes in their spiritual value. Most don't, and are like you and me in the way that they don't want this happening either. We can't judge every person in a nation for the acts of a few. In fact, many have switched from tiger parts to other items that replace tiger parts. I worked hard on this video, I'd appreciate comments! And please spread the word about tiger farming and how it deserves its end! Please note, that there are two pictures that are graphic, depicting tiger bodies being frozen in a room for later use. I blurred them so they would be a little bit more censored and not offend as many people. I don't like looking at pictures like that either, but I wanted to show what the conditions are truly like, instead of just telling you. And those images of poster like things were tiger bone wine adds. Sorry I didn't write that in the video! City Farming Project in London, Ontario Canada promotes growing sustainably on small intense plots of land within city limits using organic methods. We have a good food box basket progam which provides food to garden members. The garden is also a spot for people to gather and learn about where are food comes from and how to grow it sustainably and locally. We would like to see new & old communities develop garden plots for community members, redesigning how new subdivisions are built to include a spot for food production and natural areas for wildlife.

Agung memulai menekuni hobinya memelihara burung berkicau.

This was a video I made for my Government class showing the living conditions for animals in Factory Farms. The song is Open your Eyes by Guano Apes Edit: Okay. Before commenting like an idiot about how farms aren't like this please stop and notice that this is a FACTORY farm. If you don't know what that is you should probably look it up. Don't bother posting something unless you can control yourself because I'm just going to start removing idiotic comments.

Project clip based on the cruelty of factory farming, and the advantages of going back to the old 'family farm' idea. **I am not promoting vegetarianism. Everyone who keeps saying that clearly hasn't seen the entire video, for I'm not even a vegetarian. I just believe in watching where our meat comes from and supporting local and organic farms, opposed to big factory farms"

**********NOTE********** READ BELOW READ BELOW READ BELOW This video is now being left up for ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY. Yes, I realize my gear was HORRIBLE in this video. I made this video practically the *moment* I hit 70, my gear sucked and I was still destruction specced. I am now in much better gear and am affliction. I also no longer farm this spot, I figured out much better ways to make money...might make a video about that some day, but for now I will just leave this one up. And the 12g an hour thing, that was the money (as in silver) I was accumulating from picking it up in an hour. The good chunk of the money came from cloth and so forth. Honostely I don't reccommend using this place as much any more. The prices have steadily declined on the items obtainable here. Seriously...this movie is just more entertaining than it is useful any more. Here's my armory link: http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Hyjal&n=Immolation Enjoy. If you don't feel like checking my armory...as of now I have: 869 shadow damage (with fel armor only) 8000 health 8000 mana 8.5% hit 10.5% crit And for the people who don't understand the concept of what was happening, I'll break it down as simply as possible: I was spamming Seed of Corruption of the mobs. This move is a massive AOE time bomb. It will inflict over 1000 damage on its own after 18 seconds. When the target has SoC on him he only needs to take 1000 damage from ANYTHING to make the bomb explode, even other players can start the chain reaction. When SoC "explodes" after the 1000 damage it will inflict 1000 damage (well more depending on your spell damage) to every enemy in an immediate 15 yard radius. In my video I basically had 3 or 4 ticks on each guy before the bombs would detonate. Since dots tick every 3 seconds I had to spam SoC asap. I was only able to get about 4 off on each attempt seen. I simply had the VW target the enemies to draw initial aggro while I tab-spammed SoC onto them. After the 4 seeds I would use Shadowfury. Shadowfury is a 41 point talent in the destrucion tree that roughly does 1000 shadow damage in an AOE circle and stuns them for a brief moment. This was my detonation device, but Rain of Fire would have worked just as well for this. So basically what you're seeing is the massive numbers going off on each guy. Hold your hand out and pretend each finger is an enemy. Now imagine after each "finger" takes 1000 damage it will do 1000 damage to each finger around it. So you have a "base" finger, lets say your thumb. Your thumb will basically cause 1000 damage to itself and then 1000 damage to the 4 other fingers. Now take that damage and count it for all your other fingers. That's the simplest way to explain what you saw in the video. :)
