Don't want to build one? Buy a 200mW one for $44 here http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11315~r.93098389 ***UPDATE*** If you really want to build a laser, please don't use this tutorial. I made this video when I was younger and I didn't know much about lasers. I will have a much better and easier tutorial up in a month or so if you can wait. Until then check out laserpointerforums.com for some great tips/tutorials on building lasers. If you are going to use this tutorial anyway, the circuit used in this video is a BARE MINIMUM. Although the one I made in this video still works fine to this day, you will probably want to add a small capacitor (anything over 10v 16uf is fine)in parallel with the diode to even out any voltage spikes from the battery. To build a well regulated circuit check out www.laserpointerforums.com for some great, easy to build, current and voltage regulated circuits for lasers. One thing to note is the prices of the diodes have jumped from $13 to $19.50 but you can buy the diodes off of sales.stonetek.org If you need more help you can find me and a bunch of other people that can help you on Laser Pointer Forums and Spectraforums! http://www.laserpointerforums.com http://www.spectraforum.com In this video I show you how to build a homemade high powered burning laser. Parts: You can get 100ohm potentiometers off ebay for pretty cheap You can get you switch and battery holders at any radioshack You can get your laser diodes at laserpointerforums.com for less than half of the price of pulling them from a DVD burner (and a heck of a lot easier) You can get AixiZ modules from Ebay Seller aixiz_lasers A few tips -DO NOT LET ANYTHING SHORT! -When you have turned the pot so the brightness turns high, don't even think about turning it more to make it more powerful. If you do that the power will go from 100mW+ to .1mW and your diode will be screwed -buy more than one diode cause they can break by simply touching them sometimes, too much current to the diode or a ton of other things so you will be safe buying more, and if you have extras build more modules and sell them to your friends for even more fun! (go ahead and charge $100 for them so you can be rich) -Buy goggles for these things! Goggles cost around $40 and are easily worth it, your eyes are worth more than $40 and if you get hit in the eye by this thing without goggles on, you're screwed.

A cable apparatus is a very versatile piece of fitness equipment and its much easier than you might think to add it to your home gym, all you need is a set of dumbbells and some pulleys. Cables are great for ab and core exercises, lat exercises, and tricep exercises. Build and use this untested device at your own risk. Component choice is your responsibility, I will not suggest any mfg/part numbers. If you are not 100% sure of your ability to construct this cable apparatus safely, DO NOT DO IT! If you are a minor, obtain permission from your parents before building this. Use only mountaineering quality components. Injuries can result from hardware store quality components. Do not install this cable setup anywhere children may be present. Fitness equipment presents severe safety hazard for children. All fitness equipment is dangerous if misused, this cable setup is no exception. Insure that mounting location can support the forces generated while the setup is in use as severe injury can result from a collapse. This video was designed to give you ideas how you can construct your own cable apparatus, it is not intended to be a complete set of plans. I do not and will not provide specific advice on how to securely mount pullup bars. No Warranties Expressed or Implied. Anyone can be healthier, have more energy, sleep better, and feel better about themselves through bodybuilding. Bodybuilding doesn't have to be expensive or take a lot of time, gyms are great but home workouts can save you time and money. A cheap dumbbell set from a garage sale or walmart is all it takes to get started with your home workouts. Limitation of Liability: Consult with your doctor before starting any exercise program! I am not a medical professional. It is your responsibility to critically evaluate this information and with the help of your physician decide if it is appropriate for you. www.scoobysworkshop.com

Hi - Here's a short sampling of a few of the simple folk instruments whose construction is detailed on my webpage at http://DennisHavlena.com This video was made in my back yard, on the spur of the moment and is not intended to be fancy music -- just to show some of the instruments, which include -- in order: - 3 string cookie-tin banjo with weed- whip line strings. Tune is "the Cuckoo". - "Tambiro" made from a new (never-been-filled) 20 Lb. propane tank. - My "Fiddle-Gurdy" combination fiddle & Hurdy Gurdy. Much fun! I apologize for the squeak here and there -- I was impatient to get things on Youtube. Tune is an old French Canadian Voyageur's melody, "En Roullant Ma Boulle". Inspiration from Yuichi Onoue's "Kaisatsuko". - My 4-string, full sized wash-tub bass. Holds it's own nicely in a band situation. - Simple Hardanger fiddle conversion. 4 strings playing & 4 strings sympathetic that run through a tunnel carved into the underside of the fingerboard. Tunes are "Road to Boston" (aka "Col. Greene's March") and "Over the Waterfall". - Low D Tin-Whistle made from a shower-curtain rod for a few dollars. Tune is made up on the spot (& it sounds it!). - Octave Mandolin (aka bozouki, cittern) converted from an old guitar. Tune is the "Boys of Bluehill" hornpipe. PS: I just put another short video on YouTube of my PVC tubing instrument that plays like a hang drum, at this web address: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5dD4KkJcAw PS: Also see my propane-tank hank drum at: http://youtube.com/watch?v=bpMS15kJyOY&mode=related&search= My webpage describing building these instruments is at this URL: http://DennisHavlena.com Thanks! PLEASE NOTE: A real, Swiss-made hang drum is VERY difficult to obtain these days. A ray of hope is on the horizon however-- Pantheon Steel, a maker of beautiful steel drums ("steel pans") is researching and experimenting -- with the intention of producing hang drums (under a different name) for sale. Please contact them at pantheonsteel.com and encourage them! They're looking for signs of interest at this time. Dennis
