http://www.c64audio.com/ - buy the music used in this video from that awesome site! Lots of other great music there too and DRM free music. Well, I figured I might as well do a C64 one as well :) I'm not 100% satisfied with this one though.. it's not as good as the Amiga one. The reason is that I made this one just after finishing the Amiga one and I was a little burnt out I guess.. got very sick of making this one almost right away. It's stilld decent though so I hope some people can enjoy it at least :) The soundtrack consists of these three songs, all by Instant Remedy - Flimbo's Quest Commando Game On (Issue 0989) Complete list of games in this video (might be some errors) - 1. [Recorded Dec 10, 2007] The Commodore 64 was an 8-bit home computer released by Commodore International in August, 1982, and during it's lifetime (between 1982 and 1994), sales totaled close to 17 million units, making it the best-selling single personal computer model of all time. Approximately 10,000 commercial software titles were developed for the Commodore 64 including development tools, office applications, and games. The C64 made an impressive debut at the 1982 Winter Consumer Electronics Show, as recalled by Production Engineer David A. Ziembicki: All we saw at our booth were Atari people with their mouths dropping open, saying, 'How can you do that for $595?' The term personal computer was a common term in the early 80's and was used as early as 1972 to characterize Xerox PARC's Alto. During this era of microcomputer innovation, the market was dominated by the IBM Personal Computer (IBM PC), the Commodore 64, the Atari 8-bit family, the Apple II, Tandy Corporation's TRS-80s, and various CP/M machines. Although the history of the Commodore is rich, the histories of the people and the companies that developed these early personal computers are also critical to the personal productivity tools and business solutions we often take for granted in our daily lives. This panel discussion is a celebration of the Commodore 64 computer and how it spawned a tremendous market for home, small business, distributed and networked technology.

http://www.3d-taeuber.de Commodore 64, Close Up of a Legend. The unique Design of that legendary 8 bit machine reflects even in the small details, like Keys, and Ports. This close up view will be familiar to many of you, as if you just turned it off last night, and it just waits for you to return after school/or job just like back in the days... agree? Hey nothing against 64bit machines with fat 3D-Chips, but they don't mean the same to us, and they can't...

This is probably our most famous tune, and probably the one most far away from our usual style---which is rock music. This tune is an "off the mill" boy band song about love to our beloved C64. At one point we figured "What c64 tune would be great if interpreted as a boy band song?" The answer was Comic Bakery written by Martin Galway.

Update 9.feb In the video with Timbaland's response to Acidjazz Ripoff controversy Nepbaland says: "Yes, I delete racist comments, repetitive comments aka spam, idiotic comments, nonsense comments, etc..." He lies. He deletes practically all contradictory comments. No matter how polite or logical they are. He even leaves the blatant lies and misconceptions (he would call it nonsense comments). He is a liar and deserves no respect at all. Someone called "DieStimmeAusDemOff" has posted an alternative link of the same video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTvY3wZrHrQ Your comments won't be censored there. Update 8.feb 2007: Someone called Nepbaland has posted a video-response to this video, featuring an interview with Timbaland. Following quote is from the interview: It's from a video game idiot! [laughter] A freaking jerk! (Timbaland) When I posted my comment to the video posted by Nepbaland, it was removed. The comment said that Timbaland is clueless and that it was never used in videogame and that's just actual composition by Glenn Rune Gallefoss (you can read the rest of the info later in this text). Actually as it seems, Timbaland was trying to be insulting, not pretending to be clueless. I provide a link to the transcription of the stuff that Timbaland says in the interview. Most of this is showing the discrescpect and arrogance towards the original composer (2000) and later arranger (2002) of the original tune which Timbaland had falsely claimed as his. http://www.zxdemo.org/extra/timbaland_radio_transcript.txt Very sad indeed. -------------------------------------------- C64 demo released on 20. January 2007 by Chronic, featuring a music called AcidJazz.sid arranged by Glenn Rune Gallefoss (2002). The tune got sampled and used in Nelly Furtado's song "Do It" without permission. Original author of the music is Tempest (Janne Suni) who released the Acidjazzed Evening in 2000 at Assembly 2000 demoscene party in Finland. Glenn Rune Gallefoss made a cover of the tune in 2002 with permission of the original author. In 2005 GRG's version got first used in a mobile ringtone called BlockParty (produced by Timbaland) and later (2006) it was used in "Do it", Credits to "Do it" goes like this: Written by Nelly Furtado, Tim Mosely (Timbo) and Danja (Nate Hills). Produced by Timbaland and Danja. However the Acidjazz.sid music (which you are hearing in the video) was used without permission. You can download the demo here: http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=45786 Scrolltext goes like this: fo shizzel my nizzel! dis beda hip hop megastar timbaland bustin a cap in yo 8-bit asses!! i am tha rasta.man!! The Commodore 64 home computer celebrated its 25th birthday at the Computer History Museum with several luminaries of the 8-bit computing era present. We take a peek at this popular pesky piece of silicon and plastic and try to get an idea of why the Commodore 64 was the best selling personal computer in history at 30 million units moved. GETV's Roving Retro Reporter Violet Blue puts the question to Jack Tramiel, founder and head of Commodore, as well as his son Leonard Tramiel. Violet gets a bit of insight from a couple of the C64's competitors, Steve Wozniak, creator of the first Apple computer, and Bill Lowe, known as the father of the IBM PC.

I keep reading comments such as: this isn't good as the original, this sucks etc. To be honest I think you are all missing the point. I didn't upload this video to be better or worse than the original but to be something different. - - - - This is the unofficial C64 version of Erwin Beekveld's Hobbit Video music provided by Misser and DeTron (Erwin Beekveld). I got sick and tired of seeing the same video being uploaded to YouTube, I think this one makes a refreshing change :) please check out SLAY Radio http://www.slayradio.org for the best internet radio station of C64 remixes and live shows.
