Combats en 1990 à Kunduz, 1990: Après le retrait des troupes soviétiques d'Afghanistan, Najibullah instaure un gouvernement communiste à Kaboul. Aussitôt la résistance s'organise contre ce régime et c'est la guerre civile contre "les communistes". L'armée régulière de Najibullah bombarde les villes et essaie de rallier les provinces une à une. Kaboul est prise par les Moudjahidin en 1992. Ici on assiste à la prise de contrôle de la ville de KUNDUZ (au nord-est du pays) par les troupes du commandant Massoud. A la fin du document c'est la ville de TALOQAN qui passe sous contrôle des Moudjahidin. Des militaires issus de l'armée de Najibullah se rendent et sont interviewés sur leur décision de passer du côté de la résistance.

This is a old 1985 video of my father a former B-17 Pilot who was in the USAAF 15th Air Force,5th Bombardment Wing,463rd Bombardment Group (Heavy),772nd Bombardment Squadron stationed at the Celone Air Base near Foggia,Italy in World War 2. In the video when my father talks about a combat mission over Ploesti,Romania the target was the Xenia Oil Refineries on July 31,1944. The B-17 he was Piloting on that combat mission was AAF serial number 44-6287 or tail number 46287 which had no name.The same B-17 44-6287 was lost with another crew on board her on August 15th,1944.The B-17 that blew up in front of my father was B-17 42-31827 named G.I. Delivery which he had Piloted with his crew on board on July 27th 1944 (formation practice). Also lost on that date (July 31,1944) was B-17 42-102887 The Pisseroo which my father and his crew had a combat mission on just the day before on July 30th,1944 My father was extremely lucky in surviving and was never wounded.Only his ball turret gunner was wounded. He had 50 missions in total or 35 sorties.The 463rd Bomb Group Historian compiled a list for me derived from my fathers Pilot's Log Book in which we figured out almost all of the B-17's that my father Piloted in the 463rd BG.In fact all of the combat missions have AAF serial numbers and/or names figured out. Bombardment, the Russian escort, the Georgian artillery...From the flashpoint South Ossetia, the Russian military moved south into the central Georgia city of Gori, Georgia said. Russia denies its troops are in the city. A CNN crew in Gori saw Georgian forces piling into trucks and leaving the city at high speed. The streets of Gori were nearly empty Monday. Over the weekend the city came under repeated aerial attack from the Russian military. Russian troops were also in Senaki, in western Georgia, having advanced from Abkhazia, Russian and Georgian officials said. Russia's Interfax news agency cited an official with the Russian Defense Ministry saying troops were in Senaki to "prevent attacks by Georgian military units against South Ossetia." Senaki is home to a Georgian military base.
