Eastern Arunachal Pradesh (land kissed by India's first dawn), a biodiversity-rich region due to its great changes in altitude within relatively short distances and subsequent varied climactic conditions, is a place that is gifted with natural beauty. There are vast forests and mighty rivers; rare birds and animals and verdant flora.
Tawang district--where these children live--at an altitude of 10,000 feet above sea level, is an extreme environment: winters are harsh, and the summers have periods of heavy rainfall, with prolonged cloudy peridods ( inside he cloud that is) and bright sunshine and intense heat during the dry season.
The area is populated by the warmhearted, forbearing Tibetan-Monpa--Tribal people of Buddhist faith.
