Summer is here and gasoline is expensive. So if you're looking for a place to get away without dropping a lot money, consider the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. It's located at West 179th and Antioch Road in south Overland Park. KMBC's Kris Ketz reported that hundreds of visitors come to the arboretum every day. "Who comes out here to visit? I mean, give me a sense of the kind of people who are drawn to a place like this," Ketz asked Karen Kerkhoff of the arboretum. "Everybody," Kirk answered. Ketz said on his tour he visited 13 gardens and a new visitor's center. "If you want solitude and just time to take a real break, this is it?" Ketz asked. "We got it. Yeah," Kirk answered. In addition to all the color, there are trails that can take you even closer to nature.
