This Monologue stars Nee Kirschman as a female prostitute who loves to service other women. It was performed at the USC Village Gate Theatre.
What is it about?
The Vagina Monologues is an Obie Award-winning episodic play written by Eve Ensler. It is based on interviews with over 200 women about their memories and experiences of sexuality. The Vagina Monologues is a celebration of female sexuality in all its complexity and mystery. It gives voice to women's deepest fantasies and fears, guaranteeing that no one who sees it will ever look at a woman's body, or think of sex, in quite the same way again. It is witty and irreverent, compassionate and wise.
Why:
We perform the Vagina Monologues in order to raise money for organizations fighting to protect women. The proceeds from these performances will go to programs that work to end violence against women and girls, including crisis centers and women's shelters. This year we decided to raise money for A Window Between Worlds, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to using art to help end domestic violence.
