http://www.ted.com Satirist Tom Rielly delivers a wicked parody of the 2006 TED conference, taking down the $100 laptop, the plight of the polar bear, and people who mention, one too many times, that they work at Harvard. Watch for a very special moment between Tom and Al Gore. Impossible to summarize, pointless to explain, ladies and gentlemen, Tom Rielly ...

http://www.ted.com The bird is the word, and everyone gets heard, as Rives recaps the most memorable moments of TED2006, with a fantastical Mockingbird lullaby. Mixing the personal with the universal in free-spirited rhyming verse, he imagines using mockingbirds to redistribute the world's underappreciated sounds. "They listen and mimic and remix what they like / they rock the mic." The magic of this piece is best appreciated after watching a range of talks from TED2006.

http://www.ted.com A must-see for every parent and teacher. Education guru Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining (and profoundly moving) case for creating an education system that nurtures creativity, rather than undermining it. Sir Ken Robinson is author of "Out of Our Minds: Learning to be Creative," and a leading expert on innovation in education and business. (Recorded February, 2006 in Monterey, CA.) http://www.ted.com In a follow-up to his now-legendary TED2006 presentation, Hans Rosling demonstrates how developing countries are pulling themselves out of poverty. He shows us the next generation of his Trendalyzer software -- which analyzes and displays data in amazingly accessible ways, allowing people to see patterns previously hidden behind mountains of stats. (Ten days later, he announced a deal with Google to acquire the software.) He also demos Dollar Street, a program that lets you peer in the windows of typical families worldwide living at different income levels. Be sure to watch straight through to the (literally) jaw-dropping finale.

In this charismatic presentation (which received a prolonged standing ovation), she explains her commitment to environmental justice and her vision for a renewed South Bronx. (Recorded February, 2006 in Monterey, CA.)

http://www.ted.com Dr. Dean Ornish tracks the dramatic rise of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease across the globe -- as the world begins to eat, live and die like we do in the U.S. The good news: It's reversible. (Recorded February 2006 at the TED Conference, in Monterey, CA. Duration: 3:34) More TEDTalks at www.TED.com

http://www.ted.com Like nearly everyone at TED2006, Jill Sobule was stirred by Al Gore's spectacular speech on the clear and present danger of climate change. The time for action is now, Jill thought. And so she wrote a song. But since everyone else was so down about the impending collapse of ecological systems, which could lead to floods, drought, hurricanes, mosquito overpopulation and species extinction, she decided to write a happy song about global warming. And here it is: Inspired by TED Curator Chris Anderson (who cameos here). Written and performed first at TED. Al Gore loved it, and so will you...

Dynamo, a street magician from UK was performing and presenting at TED2006. On the following night, at the Aquariem Party, he was performing to small groups. Someone mentioned that he may be using a trick deck. As it so happens, I carry a deck of cards with my laptop bag at all times and as it so happens, that deck is a purple Yahoo! deck.
