The white stork seen from my breakfast table in Motel Petro, Torzym, West Poland. About 30% of white storks are hatched in this country. This year the abundance of storks is a relief after the appearnace of some bird flu cases at the start of the season. Happily not one single dead stork was seen in this country, other than one killed by a panic artist worried about catching bird flu from it. They were traditionally considered to be bringers of good fortune and fertility.

Anticipating success with their feature film Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, Producers Mark Mathis, Logan Craft and Walt Ruloff have already leaked a teaser trailer for the film's sequel. Their "teach the controversy" slogan seemed to work well in getting the general public to believe that Intelligent Design is a viable alternative scientific theory to Evolution, so the team has moved on to promoting other theories that they feel are being suppressed by the scientific community. Sexpelled: No Intercourse Allowed tells of how Sex Theory has thrived unchallenged in the ivory towers of academia, as the explanation for how new babies are created. Proponents of Stork Theory claim that "Big Sex" has been suppressing their claim that babies are delivered by storks. Furthermore, Stork Theory proponents warn of the serious moral dangers posed by teaching children that sex has a function. They point out that evil dictators such as Hitler, Stalin and Mao all believed in Sex Theory, and they may have even had sex themselves. There is also a late-breaking new development in the controversy, a new theory called Avian Transportation Theory. Unlike the original Stork Theory, the modern, sophisticated "Avian Transportation Theory" (ATT) merely points out that there are gaps in the orthodox Sex Theory, and that current sonogram imaging is unreliable. Moreover ATT does not specify that babies are necessarily brought by storks but by "large birds unspecified" (although many individual ATT theorists PRIVATELY believe it is a stork). GOMTV (Season2) MSL Finals, Saturday 14th July, 2007 Stork[gm] vs Bisu[Shield] @ Loki I wasn't going to upload the finals, but I got many requests to specifically upload the fifth game of the MSL finals in a one part video (I guess so people can send one easy link to friends), so here it is :-) Stork plays white @ 2 Bisu plays yellow @ 7 There's also the awards ceremony at the end. But I highly recommend Klaz's commentary of the finals, the video quality is quite good as well, he used the same source as this one I'm using now, which unfortunately wasn't as good as the usual HQ sources are (too dark I think).. but its ok I guess. Anyway I see no reason re-uploading all 5 games since Klaz used the good source, and all his uploads are 2 parts which is fine, except this Game5 that took 4 parts, so this upload is wise either way :-) Here are Klaz's commented games (and it is probablly his last commentary for the time being, so enjoy it) Set1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2NFjJQD6oU Set2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtvnHepynKM Set3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eT7dOJZ2v3I Set4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAVCGUQEToU Set5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTENfiBoZTQ What a truly deserving 5th game for an amazing finals. SPOILER below (Winner Interview) * ** *** **** ***** ****** ***** **** *** ** * Translated by Nocturne, thanks a lot! :-) To have a sudden change also contains within a notion of changing history. The Protoss have not emerged as a dominant force in the history of the MSL, but Kim Taek Young has cast that notion aside. For the first time in MSL history, the Protoss have had appearances in the finals two times in a row, but what's more, they have won twice in a row - Kim Taek Young has made his name "The Revolutionary Protoss" known throughout all the world. Rewriting MSL history, we had a winner's interview with the player now known as "The Revolutionary Protoss" Q: This is the second straight time that you have won in the finals. What are your feelings? A: I felt that the Ro32 was very far away (a long way to go), but one game after another, I am now here in the winner's seat. I am in awe, and I am filled with pride. I had a lot of added pressure from winning the MSL for the second straight time, but now that it's over, I feel great. Q: How do you compare last time's finals with this one? A: At that time, it was the second appearance in a major tournament, all the opponents I've faced were difficult. I felt that this season was a little easier to climb the ladder. But the finals this time around were very difficult. Q: Right now, who is the person most on your mind? A: The people who helped me practice. I am grateful to all of the MBC Game Hero teammates, Park Jung-Suck ([Oops]Reach), Jang Joo-Hyun ([Oops]Shield), Park Sae-Jung (Sea.Pure), Sin Sang-Ho (SangHo[Shield]). And to other team members. Park Yong Oon Coach thought over/helped my practice a lot. Of course, how to plan out my strategy, and get rid of the many mosquitoes back at the team house, essentially helping me to maintain my condition (smiles). A lot of people helped me together so I was able to win, I think. Q: You have created a new "note" in history. Do you know this fact? A: Yes, I know. It is the first time that the Protoss have won twice in a row. I am really happy and I feel great. Because I'm young, I feel that there is a lot of opportunity later on (more tournaments/prizes and such), I want to break the MSL jinx of only winning three times in a row, but what's more, I want to go for four times in a row. Q: You won 3-2, barely. Which was your most difficult set? A: The third, fourth set were the most difficult. The first, second set I prepared my build order well, but my practice for the third and fourth set were not so good. The third set I responded in kind (?), but the result came out well. Because of this, I was able to carry it on to the fifth set. Q: This season, there is a lot of talk that you got to where you are due to luck. A: I heard that Stork was not able to research the dragoon range upgrade after the tournament. Even to the finals, luck followed me there. Even while I was fighting, I kept losing each engagement, so I did not realize that the range upgrade was not complete. It was luck to me, but I think luck is also skill, in some ways. It wasn't anything to do with my fault, it was my opponents' mistake. I did my best. Q: Stork is a strong opponent, having a winning record in this season's Proleague. Actually fighting him, what are your thoughts? A: I felt he was a safe player, but he showed a lot of strategic insight. He showed many games that would not be normally made (essentially, Stork demonstrated never before thought to occur strategies). To be honest, I was taken aback by Stork's strategy. In the final set, we both opted for safe strategy/planning, but I won. Q: What do you think the outcome could have been? (Or what do you honestly think about the score) A: I never thought about 3-2. I only thought let's go 3-0 finish it early and go home. The first set was easily done, so even though we went to the fifth set, I knew I was in the advantage. Q: The second, fourth set were on more strategically oriented maps. A: The way I see it, there are no strategically oriented maps. I practiced mostly on a macro build, but at the time of the tournament, I had thoughts of changing my build order, and I did change them. For instance, I won the third set because I utilized strategy more than my opponent. Q: Any words to Stork? A: Last season, the practice partner I had was Stork in the Ro4 elimination against Nal_rA. After that, my practice partner was Stork again in preparation for my match against Much in the Proleague. I feel that he is also a fellow companion who will create a new era of the Protoss. Q: Your personal thoughts on today's matches. A: I'm satisfied. I practiced a lot, and the results were good. I'm a little sad that I wasn't able to show more on the fourth set, Monty Hall. Q: Any future goals/determinations? A: I would like to be the fans' most favorite gamer. I would like to be totally different, a new player for the fans, and I want them to love me. Sometimes, there may be some boring matches, but to the best of my ability, I want to show matches with a lot of "color." Q: You created a sensation this season using scouts. What is your next unit? A: This season, I did use a lot of scouts because scouts are the worst Protoss unit, in my opinion. Now that Dark Archons have been standardized in play, I don't think there are any more units. But I will utilize scouts the next time I want to use them (smiles). Q: Your thoughts on the next season. A: The MSL players who won twice in a row have gone on to win for the third time in a row (iloveOov, [Red]NaDa, sAviOr). This time, I would like that player to be me. Since I am Protoss, the fights may be more difficult, but if I have the fans' belief, I believe I can win for the third time in a row. Q: A word to your fans who came out tonight. A: All of them stood up and began to congratulate me. This is what it feels like to win, I thought again. I would like to experience that next season. Q: You received the most prize money ever in an individual league tournament - 500 million won (More than 50,000$ US). A: There are a lot of places to use this money. If a lot of people ask me to buy something for them, I will buy it for them at any time. I will buy something for my teammates, and after I help the people who helped me, I would like to give the rest to my parents. Q: Any last words? A: Father, mother, brother, family, coach, staff, thank you so much. (I'm not sure what this next one is..) But I would like to say thank you to you too. To the fans who came out and supported me, I am most thankful. *** Interview with Bisu's father, translated by infinity21 for TeamLiquid.net, very cool stuff :-) Q: Your son has won twice in a row. A: My son is the best. I am so proud of him, and proud to be his father. I knew before the matches began that my son would win. Q: Is there any special inkling that made you believe your son would win? A: Taek Young, compared to other players, is not as nervous. If you stand in front of a massive audience in the finals tournament, there are many cases of nervousness, but Taek Young isn't as nervous. Taek Young also told me that before the match, he had a lot of confidence. I believed my son. Q: The matches went to the fifth and final set. Didn't you worry? A: Is there any parent who would not worry about his own child? During the game, there were some difficult moments, but I believed my son to win in the end, and finally, he did it. I'm very proud of him. Q: How do you plan to spend dinner tonight? A: If Taek Young has some time, I would like for the whole family to gather and have a meal together. But he has another show match in a few days, so I don't know if he has time. If he is busy, at least the rest of the family can get together and congratulate his success. Q: MBC Game Hero has entered the Proleague post season. Do you want your son to do well in the Proleague as well? A: Of course, I wish my son to do well in the Proleague. In MBC Game Hero, there are many good players other than my son - I firmly believe that they will do well. Q: Finally, if there is any last world to the fans of your son. A: To the fans who love and care for my son - thank you so much. I cannot express fully my thanks in words - I almost feel sorry. In the future, please love, care, and support my son, thank you so much.

July 18th 2007, Daum OSL 3rd Place Match Games 2-5: Stork[gm] vs By.Flash Game1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQeZ0Q1IRcw Set 2 @ Hitchhiker Set 3 @ Monty Hall Set 4 @ Fantasy Set 5 @ Python I have very little time to write something up, TONS of things to do before the OSL finals starts (2 hours fron now, 19:00 Korea time, thats 10:00 GMT, 12:00 CET, 06:00 EST, you can watch it live on www.sc2.org or www.yaoyuan.com/live.php ), just going to write a couple sentences and upload this nice set. Game 2 is a work of art :-) Winner of this Bo5 takes the desirable 3rd seed. After a tough grueling season both players are tired, both players want to secure their spot for the next season, and you can count on it- both players will bring their top game to avoid the 4rth seed battle of survival. Loser would face Rock on the 20th in the Star Challenge semi-finals, of which the winner will face Jaedong on the 25th in the Star Challenge finals, for the 4rth seed! You can also take a look at the live report thread @ TL: http://teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=56539 SPOILER Below (winner interview) * ** *** **** ***** ****** ******* ****** ***** **** *** ** * Translated by Nocturne for teamliquid.net, thanks! ;-) Q: You have gotten the 3rd seed. A: Because there is a difference between the 3rd and 4th seed, I wanted to win. But honestly, I was not able to practice as much and the maps were difficult, so I came to the conclusion that I couldn't do much. On top of that, Lee Young Ho (By.Flash) is a player I want to avoid - so there was the added stress. I don't know how I won. Q: The first, second set were close showmatches... A: I was very lucky in the first set. When the vulture came into my main, I thought my opponent saw the stargate and fleet beacon. And so I thought I lost. But at the right timing, he did not push out. Later on, I found out that he was not able to see the fleet beacon. After, I thought my condition was good, so I did not spend as much attention to control. I was taken aback since I had never experienced the second set strategy during practice. Today's concept was on countering a 2 factory build. I was beaten by a 2 factory build by Iris at the OSL semifinals, yet I do not know how to effectively counter this build. To be honest, I still don't feel as confident against a 2 fac build. The reason I built a scout was that I had money left over from not having to cancel my stargate, and having my gateway destroyed. But when I saw Flash's main, his scv count was low, so one scout could be a very annoying thorn in the Terran's side. This plan came to fruition, so I am satisfied. Q: The third set was a normal standard victory. A: The Protoss have a winning record on this map, but I felt that had I gone with a standard build, Flash would have defeated me. So I took the economy road build order, taking many expansions and securing money. The fourth map is very difficult, so I played with the mindset that if I did not win on the third map, I would probably have to go to the fifth set. Q: This season's starleague has concluded for you - is there any regrettable match? A: Yes, the Ro4 semifinals popped into my mind first. I should have thought much about what strengths and weaknesses I have against my opponent, and utilized an accompanying build order, but I was too confident. Today was a difficult victory, but I don't feel confident playing against Terran. Q: You received the seed. A: If I had received the fourth seed and not received first in the Star Challenge group, I would have had to probably play against sAviOr, a very difficult opponent, or play against Kim Dong Gun of my team. And having the elimination final matches up front, I felt that I would not be able to focus 100% of my energy into those matches had I not won. My teammates, despite having our proleague match tomorrow, helped me greatly. I kept telling them that I would buy food for them one time, but I still have yet to keep that promise. Now, I will go back to the team house and buy them food. Also, Reach and I promised each other that in the Ro8, whoever wins will buy food for the other, but I was so busy I was not able to call him yet. There is still some time before our proleague match opponent is to be decided, so in case you are watching this, let me know what would be a good time for food (towards Reach). Q: What are your goals for next season? A: I am working hard, but I feel that I myself do not have the skill level yet to achieve first. I will work even harder, and after securing our Proleague victory first, I will work towards improving my skill towards the finals next season.

2005 SKY Proleague Finals - Bo7 Game1: Stork[gm] vs GoRush @ Neo Requiem Well I got some questions from people inquiring about.. who is Stork? Because lately he's been amazing in all his games in Proleague (9-2 this season so far) and doing well in Starleague. The double FPVOD I recently uploaded ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXZk2u5X3LY ) is also very impressive. Its true that he came a bit 'out of the blue' for some people, but if you're not new to Starcraft progaming then hearing Stork's name in the context of.. a monster, shouldn't be that surprising for you :-) Here's a little game I dug up from the ancient cold depth of my old HD :-) SKY proleague was utterly dominated by SKT1 back then, led by Boxer. But this SKY finals between SKT and Khan was really amazing, went all the way to Game7, Khan fought well, Stork first player representing Khan. This is a full 1-hour game, I cut the first 20min of the game, basically you begin watching when both players reach 200/200, what you missed is lots of harass, same thing over and over, but it wasn't that exciting really, mostly Corsairs flying around trying to pick off Overlords. The real fun begins here :-) starting with a genius cannon push + storms & d-webs, all the way to some massive maxed armies battles, and you get to see the very rare Zerg mix of purple/green/red at the same time, Devourer's Acid Spores (purple), Queen's Ensnare (green) and Defiler's Plague (red), very colorful, a real eye candy :-) The 7th and final game of the finals was iloveOov vs JJu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2F6q0it8IVY

Created by Nina Paley Visit her site at http://blog.ninapaley.com/ Excerpt from her bio: "Enough with accessible children's films! thought I, as I plunged headlong into a controversial series about overpopulation and the environment. The centerpiece of this trilogy, which I now call my "Fertility Cycle," was the 3-and-a-half minute The Stork (2002), in which a serene natural landscape is bombed by bundles of joy. I expected the film to be extremely unpopular, and possibly end my animation career; although I was now confident in my abilities as an animator, I knew the subject matter would anger viewers. The Stork did anger some, but much to my surprise it was my most successful film yet, winning first prize at the EarthVision Environmental Film Festival and an unsolicited invitation to Sundance (2003). This experience confirmed that taking great risks in art can lead to greater rewards. I also experienced a powerful catharsis; once The Stork and my other population films were completed, I was relieved of a huge burden of anger. I truly exorcized some demons with that project." Note from SkepticalProgressive: I reconverted the video using Sony Vegas and have uploaded it here in higher quality due to the general poor quality of other copies on Youtube (likely due to being converted directly from the MOV file available on Nina's website).
