Richard Owens became the Merseyside County darts champion when his only real competition, his best mate Miles fuller, moved to London to follow his dream of becoming a world class jockey. Richard lived a happy but non-eventful working class life in his quiet Northern England town. While Miles found fame and fortune on the racetrack, forever turning his back on his meager upbringing. Fourteen years later, and a week before Christmas, miles appears to Richard in a dream and delivers a racing tip that costs Richard his life savings. As Richard Despairs, fate conspires to bring him face-to-face with Miles again, giving them a chance to setttle old scores, once and for all, in a game of darts with the highest of stakes. The winner keeps his dignity. WIN EACH WAY is a poignant holiday tale with a lively ensemble cast that considers the slippery concepts of winning and losing and how even the smallest choices can have a big effect on others.

Discovery of Orange Soil at Station 4 (Shorty Crater) by The Surface Crew of Apollo 17 during EVA 2 at Taurus Littrow. The Orange color was initially interpreted as a possible product of Ferrous oxides in the soil. It later turned out to be pyroclastic glass. Thanks to the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal for making this video available .

This video documents the initial field interpretation that the orange soil collected at Station 4 (Shorty Crater) was an oxide. It turned out to be composed of pyroclastic glass particles ejected by the impact which created Shorty. This was the only pyroclastic material sampled from a known stratigraphic context on the lunar surface. Thanks to the Apollo Lunar Surface Journal at NASA for making this video available.

Orange Soil at Station 4 (Shorty Crater) Apollo 17 Landing Site. Note the reference to a "Classic Alteration Halo" surrounding Shorty Crater. This is erroneous as the halo was pyroclastic material predating the formation of the crater, survived as a deposit underlying the surface and ejected from the crater by the impact which created it. It is not due to fumerolic activity as Shorty is an impact structure and not volcanic. It is unclear whether this material was transported from the adjacent highlands by volcanic fountaining or mass wasting. It is clear that it was placed around the crater as impact ejecta. Thanks to the "Apollo Lunar Surface Journal" (NASA) for making this video available.

Orange Soil at Station 4 (Shorty Crater) Apollo 17 Landing Site. Note the description of the interior of Shorty Crater. The Dark material and orange streaks are pyroclastic material predating the formation of the crater, This exists as a deposit underlying the surface and was ejected from the crater by the impact which created it. It is not due to fumerolic activity as Shorty is an impact structure and not volcanic. It is unclear whether this material was transported from the adjacent highlands by volcanic fountaining or mass wasting. It is clear that it was placed around the crater as impact ejecta. The reference to Obsidian-like glass reflects the bias towards a volcanic origen of the crater as this glass was impact generated and not pyroclastic. the differences between these two glass types is outlined in Delano J. 1986 "Pristine Lunar Glasses: Criteria Data and Implications (Proceedings of the 16th Lunar and Planetary Science Conference 1986, J. of Geophysical Research 91 D201-D213). Field Geology is a wonderful thing but sometimes biases can get in the way of accurate preliminary assesments. Thanks to the "Apollo Lunar Surface Journal" (NASA) for making this video available.

unmanned test flight of Buran, 1.01 The Russian Space Shuttle, at 03:00 hours UT on 15 November 1988. The stack employed a specially modified Energia booster. This, the only flight of Buran, was 206 minutes (two orbits) in duration and ended with the landing of the orbiter at Baikonur Cosmodrome. A second flight may have been scheduled for 1993 but never occured as the Buran program had been cancelled prior to this time.
