Shakespears Sister - Hello Life is a strange thing Just when you think you learnt how to use it It's gone My favourite song ever. Released in November of 1992, it reached number 14 in the UK charts. The video was directed by brilliant Sophie Muller, of course.

"Shakespears Sister - Stay" This is the eighteenth in a series of sad songs I've compiled, and it is accompanied by a video I've made featuring the "Stay" lyrics and pictures of Shakespears Sister. To see my other music videos, go on to my channel (TheSadSongsChannel), and subscribe if you wish. Lyrics: If this world is wearing thin And you're thinking of escape I'll go anywhere with you Just wrap me up in chains But if you try to go out alone Don't think I'll understand Stay with me Stay with me In the silence of your room In the darkness of your dreams You must only think of me There can be no in between When your pride is on the floor I'll make you beg for more Stay with me Stay with me You'd better hope and pray That you make it safe Back to your own world You'd better hope and pray That you'll wake one day In your own world 'Cause when you sleep at night They don't hear your cries In your own world Only time will tell If you can break the spell Back in your own world Stay with me Stay with me Stay, stay with me Stay, stay, stay, stay, stay Stay with me...

Shakespears Sister - Heroine One of the best songs on Shakespears Sacred Heart LP. Siobhan loved it so much that she wanted it to be the first single, but unfortunately London Records did not feel the same. Fahey, believing that the song has all the potential to be a hit, made a video for it with the help of her friend Sophie Muller, financing its funding herself. She bought a wedding dress in a thrift shop and the video is pretty much nothing but Siobhan running in the streets of LA. The video also features Siobhan's eldest son, Sam.

Song was recorded in late 1993. The Bates: Zimbl, Klube, Reb, Pogo. Life is a strange thing...... ZIMBL 7.10.1964 - 18.6.2006 He is not dead. He does not sleep He is AWAKENED from the dream of life.

Shakespears Sister "GBCW" was released as a single twice since the record company was so convinced of its success. In September of 1991 it reached # 56, and after the success of "Stay", it entered the Top 40 at # 32. The video.... it won the Best video nomination in 1992. The best video of the 90's, no doubt!!

Shakespears Sister / One of my favourite Shakespears' songs. "My 16th Apology" is the fifth single from "Hormonally Yours" released in 1993 and managed 64 in the UK charts. The video is interesting as it is essentially made up of videos for "Goodbye Cruel World", "I Don't Care", "Hello" and "Stay" and footage from live gigs much of which is not included on those videos.

Shakespears Sister - Catwoman As Marcy rememberes , at first, "Hormonally Yours" was based on an unusual concept. Dave Stewart had an idea to buy the rights to an old movie called "Catwomen From The Moon", in which Siobhan and Marcy would star. It was a wonderfully tacky movie, shot in the late fifties, complete with fake rockets, and fabulously unfrightening monsters! They ended up using the film for inspiration for the writing of some of the album. Hence, the songs, "Moonchild", "Emotional Thing" and "Catwoman" were written.

Marcella Detroit & Siobhan Fahey /AT THE CENTRAL TV STUDIOS, Shakespears Sister have also discovered that Tom Jones is expecting to sing with them on "Hot Love". At first Siobhan looks a little dubious. Maybe her past is haunting her. Maybe a siren is hooting in her head "Seaside Special! Seaside Special!". But they agree, and soon decide it's rather a thrill. In rehearsal there is a small hiccup. Tom Jones has only prepared one line to sing - "I come from the coast and I'm faster than most" - and he is now to handle a whole verse. Nobody told him, and he is anxious about having had this extra script - full text:"I'm a two-penny prince and I give her hot love" - thrust upon him. The lyrics are on autocue but he hasn't got his contact lenses in and so, while Marcy and the rest of the live band dither about with the Shakespears Sister guide to seventies pop reggae ("Exodus", "Uptown Top Ranking"), another idiot board is written out. They discuss his entrance, mid-song. "I'll come behind you, if you like," he says to Siobhan, and raises his eyebrows in mock lechery, though thankfully she misses the innuendo. /

Have just talked to Marcy about this video. It was shot back in the 80's in LA and the desert around LA. The first scene with Marcy was shot in the Hotel called Franklin Towers which is no longer there. It is an apartment block now. Intersting, huh? Shakespears Sister / The material for Shakespears debut album was written and recorded all over the world. "Break My Heart" and "Heaven" were recorded in LA. "Run Silent" and "Heroin" were written in London. That's where in the spring of 1988, in a small room at the back of Dave Stewart's "Church Studio" in Crouch End, Marcy and Siobhan wrote "Sacred Heart", the song that gave a title to Shakespears first record. Here is a video for this song. If not for my friend Mike, I would have never seen this clip. Thank you, buddy :-)
