"By the 260's BC, all other states of China realized the full magnitude of the Qin reforms to the very nature of warfare. All vestiges of aristocratic pleasantry had vanished in favor of raw efficiency. Starting 265 BC Qin launched a massive invasion against Han. By 262 BC Qin was again bullying Han to give up its Shangdang area. Han, not willing to benefit Qin, turned to Zhao and offered Shangdang to Zhao, which lead to a standoff between Qin and Zhao for the control of Shangdang, and, in a larger stage, the dominance of northern China. The two states engaged in a three years long Battle of Changping, followed by another three years long siege of Handan, which saw not just war in the field but also full involvement in both home fronts campaigning for supplies and political plots. The type of warring scheme in Changping was a show-down of overall state strength stretched to its maximum by the two sides. Qin, despite its stacked resources and vast manpower, had to enlist every man above the age of 15 to be on war related duties, from front line service to logistics to agriculture, and saw King Zhaoxiang himself directing the army supply lines. The extent of mobilization and the resulting exhaustion in the aftermath was never be seen in world history for another 2,000 years until this concept of total war was back on stage again during WWI. At the end, it was diplomatic corruption plots by Qin within the Zhao court which resulted in a change in the Zhao general staff that led Qin to her ultimate victory in battle in 260 BC. Afterwards, Qin general Bai Qi sent a dreadfully staggering message to the whole known world of Qin's mighty indisputable authority by ordering the execution of some 400,000 POWs from the surrendered Zhao army. War in PW is very very expenisve, time consuming and costly its no joke. War should only be done when there is an advantage or purpose and necessary where victory is certain otherwise ur just wasting ur time. I lost 100+ potions mana/life halfway around the war good my guild mates gave me some of their extra pots for me to go on... i lost 150k in this war imagine others using tons of amulets and herbs... xD

Chin na demo. Not to be confused with a way to fight, but a needed skill in one arsenal to help cover all areas of self defense (ti, da, na, shuia). Basic Yue Jia San Shou for understanding mechanics, body structure, qin-na and flow of both people. Yue Family style has a unique approach to controling and flowing, with heavy influences in usage of what today is considered internal/external arts. As always these skills and Qin na or chin na are tools in ones arsenal of tools. I hope everyone enjoys objectively.

Ripped from the DVD of Kung Fu Hustle Kung Fu Hustle is a humorous parody and a special tribute to the wuxia genre, played and directed by Stephen Chow. The Harpists are a pair of hitmen dressed in long grey robes, sunglasses and broad rimmed hats; who where hired by the Axe Gang to rid of Coolie, Donut, and Tailor. They are highly knowledgable about their opponents and knew who they were and their fighting styles before the Axe gang hired them, though they where quite suprised to find the Lions Roar actually existed. Their weapon of choice is an (immensely over-sized) Gu qin-Guzheng hybrid. Although capable of melee combat, they much prefer to use their special fighting style, Deadly Melody. They can use their qi to focus and mold the sound waves produced by the instrument into a range of deadly forms, ranging from scimitars, to fists and even a small legion of sword-wielding undead in ancient Chinese armor. The ability is not purely offensive; it can be used to form a protective "wall" that actively blocks and forcibly repels incoming weapons. With practically every string they play from their musical instrument, killer objects, usually almost invisible, would fly from it, aiming for the unfortunate target. The first harpist appears to be the older of the two. He fights Tailor in his shop and proves to be capable of matching him in hand to hand combat (though he did have the element of suprise on his side). He primarily uses his long fingernails as claws when fighting, and is capable to cutting through plaster with relitive ease. He uses the Guqin as a back up, though allows his partner to do most of the firing. Despite his hand to hand combat skill he proves to be no match for the landlord. The second harpist appears younger and appears to be blind, since in an earlier scene the first harpist had to assist him to his drink and frequently cocks his head to focus on particular sounds. Despite this handicap, he seems to have excellent accuracy and skill with the Gu qin at long range, and was able to tell where his opponents where even after dodging. His main offense is the Gu qin which he plays a deadly melody; his secondary defense is punching. They are defeated by Landlord, who was between them; their attacks merely were deflected by him and onto each other. Then they are decimated by the Landlady with her Lion's Roar.

The other two vids I made for "Da Ren Wu" were picture slideshows because I was new to video making. This time around, I've edited a live-action one, using clips from Taiwan's 2000 adaptation of the story, titled "Fan Ren Yang Da Tou (The Bigwig)." The newer version with Nicholas Tse & Angelica Lee is coming out soon, so I wanted to give the older one a little representation here, for comparison. The song used is "Brother Louie," by Modern Talking. If you've heard it, then you know that it's about a guy trying to keep another guy away from his girl: Jason Wu Jing (吴京) stars as Yang Fan (杨凡), the hero. Ji Qin (季芹) is Tian Si Si (田思思), the girl stuck in the middle. Chen Jun Sheng (陳俊生) plays Qin Ge (秦歌), the other man/Brother Louie. Happy watching!

A Chinese tune written during the Tang dynasty is played on the Angular Harp, an instrument that flourished during that dynasty. Rembrandt Wolpert converted it from anciemnt Chinese tablature to Western staff notation. Stephen Dydo augmented the tune with flourishes, ornaments, and new aspects.
