I just want to say that I like John Denver very much. PERHAPS LOVE - Lyric Perhaps love is like a resting place A shelter from the storm It exists to give you comfort It is there to keep you warm And in these time of trouble When you are most alone The memory of love will bring you home Perhaps love is like a window Perhaps an open door It invites you to come closer It wants you to show you more and even when you lose yourself And dont know what to do The memory of love will see you throught Oh, love to some is like cloud To some as strong as steel For some a way of living For some a way of feel Ans some say love holding on And some say letting go And some love is evrything And some say that they dont know Perhaps love is like the ocean Full of conflict full of pain Like a fire when its cold outside Or thunder when it rains If I should live forever And all my dreams come treu My memories of love will be of you And some say love is holding on And some say letting go And some say love is everything And some say that they dont know Perhaps love is like the ocean Full of conflict full of pain Like a fire when its cold outside Or thunder when it rains If I should live forever And all my dreams come treu My memories of love will be of you

Placido Domingo sings "La fleur que tu m'avais jetée" from Georges Bizet's "Carmen". Vienna State Opera. Carlos Kleiber conductor. December 9, 1978. Directed by Zeffirelli for stage and Austrian television. In prison I kept lovingly The flower you had thrown at me. Though it had faded and turned dry, It still smelled sweet as time went by; And I would put that special flower On my closed eyes, hour after hour. Drunk with that fragrance, I felt light, And there I saw you in the night! At times I would begin to hate you, To curse you and to execrate you, To say: why did it have to be That fate brought her so close to me! Then I thought that faith had defied me, And I only felt deep inside me, I only felt but one desire, But one desire, one hope, one yen, To see you, Carmen, yes, see you again! For all you needed was to be there, To throw a fleeting glance my way, To have full mastery of me there, Oh, Carmen, dear! And all you did with me was play! Carmen, I love you! Translation by Jacob Lubliner Libretto : Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy Air de la fleur

Narciso Serradel Sevilla, 1862. Narciso Serradel Sevilla (1843-1910), a native of Alverado, Vera Cruz, Mexico, was both a doctor and a composer. During the war against the French Maximiliano, Serradel fought against the French Imperial troops alongside General Zaragoza. He was taken prisoner - and deported to France. He is most famous for his popular song of farewell, "La Golondrina." The song is often thought of as "traditional."
