Kellie Pickler, America's small town sweetheart, sings the song she co-wrote about her mom who left when she was two. This is one of Kellie's best performances ever of "I Wonder." The Country Music Award audience gave a standing ovation after Kellie tearfully spoke the words, "I'm in Tennessee." Kellie's little brother Eric was crying as Kellie's best friend from Albemarle held him up so he could see his big sister above the crowd. Words can hardly describe the emotion that night. Ironically, Fox 8 in High Point, NC aired an interview with Kellie's "missing mom" Cynthia Malone on their 10 pm broadcast, just as Kellie was about to go on stage live in Nashville. From the Country Music Awards (CMA) show in Nashville, Tennessee on November, 7 2007. NOTE: The lady introducing Kellie is Kimberly Williams-Paisley, star of "According to Jim" and wife of country singer Brad Paisley. Kellie opened for Brad's recent tour. Kellie Pickler pranks Brad Paisley as he sings Dixieland Delight at Kellie's hometown concert in Charlotte, NC. Kellie dressed as a farm girl and her band released live chickens on stage! She carried them over to Brad so they could watch and dance while he picked away. This was hilarious and a complete surprise! Since Kellie, Taylor Swift, and Jack Ingram pulled the first prank of the tour (Ticks) we thought Brad would pull the next one! Later on CMT Country Countdown USA Kellie explained that she thought Brad was going to prank her in Charlotte, so she brought a bunch of chickens along and was ready to retaliate. Brad didn't prank her there but since she already had the chickens she pulled the prank anyway. http://www.kelliefans.com is a great fan site!

What a funny name for a song. And of course, every Idol critic who's seen this performance will do a play on words because of how un-great this Pickler Performance was. 'You didn't even need to bother with the Bewtiched and the Bothered did you? You could've just done Bewildered.' Oh Simon... you're so clever... The song started off fine, but I think towards the middle I started realizing this song wasn't going anywhere; it remained on the ground. There was nothing special about this performance. There was a point where Simon dropped his head in an exagerrated way, and I totally think Kellie saw it. Her eyes looked right at him, and she did that smile we all do when we're trying to convince ourselves it's alright (that awkward grin we do when our faces blush and we want to avoid embarasssment, so we smile to show everyone we're unphased, which is totally untrue, and totally noticeable). That obvious head droop threw her off rhythm and she got a little ahead of the beat. But, again, we didn't keep Kellie on the show because she was an 'amazing' singer. She was cute, bubbly, and fun. Which is why this song was just blah; it was the opposite of what Kellie was.

This is a Signature Song. Every singer/band has one. 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' simply stated, IS 'Queen.' Kellie Pickler is the bubbly bouncy country gal who turned in good and not-so-good performances. She was very memorable. Very ditzy. Very cute. But could she pull off this Queen trademark? I don't think she did. But in this rare case, I don't think it matters. The song started out ok. She looked rather Zombie-ish, with the dark eye shadow and platinum blonde frizzy hair. And the part where she's supposed to let loose and rip the stage apart with hardcore animal-like rage, she holds back and resorts to simple knee bouncing and angry head-shaking at Simon. But, did we expect this to be 'great?' Or... Did we expect it to be Kellie? Did we all think 'Queen' week would be the time where she had some sort of an epiphany and where she'd begin singing better? She did what she did best: Be Herself. And while the 'animal-like' rage was more like 'mean kitty,' it worked. Cause it was the most memorable and the most fun.
