Friends, Lara's Caruso just took back the No. 1 title as of 4/28/08, compared with the Caruso's by a wide range of vocalists around the world including: Luciano Pavarotti, Lucio Dalla, Celine Dion, Florent Pagny, Julio Iglesias, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Vitas, Mario Frangoulis, Russell Watson, Paul Potts, etc.
Lara's Caruso had been No. 1 before in or before September 2007, when Pavarotti's Caruso was in the second spot; at that time the numbers of viewing for Lara's and Pavarotti's Caruso were about 660,000 vs. 160,000.
But when Pavarotti passed away in September 2007, there was a big surge of viewers viewing most of Pavarotti's videos, and that surge propelled his Caruso to surpass Lara's Caruso in a couple of weeks.
When that surge slowly subsided, it took about seven months for Lara's Caruso to take back that No. 1 title. As of 4/28/08, the day of retaking the title, the numbers of viewing for Lara's and Pavarotti's Caruso were about 2,043,800 vs. 2,041,100; the gap is expected to widen as time goes by (even so, Pavarotti is still one of the top vocalists that I respect very, very much.)
