Moby Dick and Mighty Mightor Opener 1967. This is the opener to a cartoon favourite of mine when I was a kid. Hanna-Barbera made lots of cool toons during the 1960s from The Jetsons to Space Ghost. In Australia.. Cartoons like these primarily aired on all 3 commercial networks including channels 7, 9 and 10 on saturday mornings as well as many weekday mornings before the Breakfast News formats took over. Some even aired in afternoon timeslots between 3pm and 6pm in so called after school hours before the Australian "C" classification came into effect requiring a certain amount of educational programming to air each day.. cartoons were then pretty much ditched to mornings only. That is until 1992 when the "Simpsons" arrived. A majority of the Japanese animated series like Astro Boy, Prince Planet and Kimba aired on ABC TV. Although I do remember "Gigantor" aired at midday on Saturdays on Channel 9 in Brisbane in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
