): A training officer with the Police Special Action Unit (UTK) told the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder trial there was no possibility of unused explosives being taken away after a training session supervised by him. However, DSP M.V. Sri Kumar said he could not answer on behalf of other trainers. DPP Noorin Badaruddin had asked Sri Kumar if there was such a possibility and the answer was that normally, the training officer would have to return the unused explosives. The High Court will on Monday (July 16) view close-circuit television (CCTV) recordings taken in Hotel Malaya to determine who had entered the premises before Altantuya Shaariibuu was murdered. DPP Tun Abdul Majid Tun Hamzah said they had arranged for the CCTV recordings to be viewed in court as the monitoring room at the hotel is too small to accommodate all of them. The recordings were taken by 20 CCTVs fitted in the hotel located on Jalan Hang Lekiu in Kuala Lumpur, the place that Altantuya stayed with her friends until she went missing. The trial for the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu took an unexpected turn today after the prosecution told the court that they intended to challenge the evidence given by a key witness. Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Tun Abdul Majid Tun Hamzah said the prosecution had detected more than four contradictions in the testimony of L/Cpl Rohaniza Roslan with that of her cautioned statement recorded under Section 112 of the Criminal Procedure Act on Nov 16 last year. "We also need more time to prepare statements for the court and counsel," he said, requesting for a postponement to identify more contradictions in the evidence given by the 29-year-old policewoman, the seventh prosecution witness and girlfriend of accused C/Insp Azilah Hadri. Judge Datuk Mohd Zaki Md Yasin obliged but ordered for the hearing to continue tomorrow. This morning, DPP Noorin Badaruddin applied to discontinue the examination-in-chief after three hours, saying "we intend to impeach this witness."

DNA obtained from tissue and bone specimens, blood on a pair of slippers, a Larmes watch, a pair of earrings and a ring, revealed that the source was the biological daughter of Setev Shaariibuu and Altantsetseg Sanjaa, the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder trial heard today. Chemist Department forensic division director J. Primulapathi said DNA results were successfully obtained from some of the samples of tissue, bone, hair, a pair of slippers, swabs and blood specimens handed to him by police. Answering questions from Deputy Public Prosecutor Noorin Badaruddin, Primulapathi said DNA profiles developed from tissue specimen T5 labelled 'unknown' and bone K5 match each other, indicating that they were from the same person. "This DNA profile reveals that this source was the biological daughter of the donor's blood specimen T1 labelled Setev Shaariibuu and T2 labelled S. Altantsetseg," he said, adding that this means the probability of parentage is 99.9999% as calculated based on the Malaysian Malay, Chinese and Indian population database."
