The local boxing gym was a perfect outlet for the young energetic Kostya Tzsyu and it was where his ability to push himself beyond the pain barrier was first noticed. From the age of nine Kostya lived and breathed boxing and competed throughout the Soviet Union with one aim in sight - the Olympics. Representing his country in Seoul when he was just 18, Kostya's new quest was a world championship and at 22 he came to Australia for the fight that would change his life. Not only did he win the title but he decided Australia was where he wanted to live.
