Demonstration by Kuse-sensei (8th dan) and other yuudanshas, of some techniques of the Houki-ryu Iaido koryu repertoire (in the video, Okkake-nuki and Kaeri-nuki, respectively). Shot during the Haru Matsuri (spring festival) gathering of martial arts schools in "Iwashimizuhachimangu" (a shinto shrine) in Kyoto, western Japan (2007). The area where the shrine is located is also known as "otokoyama" (men's mountain) and it was a shrine much visited by the samurais of old time, and still retains a special place in the spiritual core of the traditional martial arts here.
