But once is not enough for the man who can do no wrong, for today he indeed blessed our pointless, futile lives for another mere fleeting moment, and in that miniscule twinkling of space and time, signed our special HMV limited edition MGS 4 sleeves, along with his sidekick Yoji Shinkawa and the beautiful, mesmerising Yumi Kikuchi who I shall henceforth devote all my time to stalking until uni resumes in September. DON'T FORGET TO WATCH THE HIGH QUALITY VERSION! P.S. Don't cuss my Japanese. I was absolutely bricking it going up those stairs, I was so nervous, everything I wanted to say would barely come out. I didn't even get to tell Hideo how cool his glasses were, or Yumi that I'd buy the Japanese game to hear her voice :(

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Kojima speaking in English about Beauty and the Beasts Unit MGS4 - PlayStation 3 Raving Raven Crying Wolf Screaming Mantis Laughing Octopus Kojima said the Beauty and the Beasts squad is a collection of in-game bosses who are the "ultimate casualty of war." Once beautiful women, Kojima said the team has taken on the characteristics similar to that of monsters -- and he knows what you're going to say: "Monsters? What kind of game is this?!" However, Kojima says the women's roles as ass-kicking bad gals will make sense with the anti-war/anti-nuclear vibe that has always been present in MGS. Four new characters are introduced: Screaming Mantis, Laughing Octopus, Raging Raven, and Crying Wolf, of The Beauty and the Beast Unit. Their animal names openly reference characters from the original Metal Gear Solid, while the emotion names are similar, if not synonymous to the codenames of some Cobra Unit members in "Metal Gear Solid 3" (Screaming-Fear, Laughing-Joy, Raging-Fury, and Crying-Sorrow). All of them are women who suffer from post traumatic stress disorder. The only way they could cope with the damage done to their minds was to become war machines. Their inner human side is referred to as "Beauty", while their outer appearance is referred to as "Beast". Four real life models were chosen for their in-game appearances as their "Beauty" side. Interestingly the Screaming Mantis has two marionettes on each arm, a closer inspection reveals that they are Psycho Mantis and The Sorrow, two characters the New Mantis seems to have the respective powers of.

Keiji Muto/Satoshia Kojima/Kaz Hayashi vs. VOODOO MURDERS (TARU/Shuji Kondo/"brother" YASSHI) from the 1/26/07 AJPW "Pro-Wrestling LOVE in OKINAWA" show, this is part one of two. Thsi match is not only pretty damn good, but held some surprises for me. Namely how heel YASSHI was; I mostly see him in Dragon Gate/Toryumon and El Dorado, so to see him turn the heel all the way to 11 was quite a bit of a shock. The shocks kept coming when he performed the infamous triple crotch-grab incident. That grossness aside, he and Kondo had amazing teamwork, as per usual. TARU also takes time out to abuse/terrorize the crowd as well as use many weapons against Team Face, that's always fun. Muto did pretty okay considering he's in his 90's, one of his better (though that's not saying much) '07 matches that I've seen. Kojima brings the LARIATOs, Kaz brings that almost underdog-ish quality as well as the awesome, and there's also some intentional and unintentional lulz throughout. Enjoy the crap out of it!
