Shyamlal and his wife decide to visit their grandson, throwing Kalpana in a chaos, as she must now attempt to live up the high expectations that she has created for her family Nanda comes from a show-business family. Her father, Vinayak Damodar Karnataki a.k.a Master Vinayak, was a successful actor-director in the 1930s and 1940s. He died when Nanda was just a child. The family faced hard times. She became a child artiste and helped out her family by working in films like Jaggu in the early 50's. She was tutored at home by renowned school-teacher and Bombay Scouts Commissioner, Gokuldas V. Makhi. Her paternal uncle V. Shantaram gave Baby Nanda ( her screen name then ) a big break by casting her in a successful brother-sister saga Toofan Aur Diya (1956). She received her first Filmfare nomination as Best Supporting Actress for "Bhabhi" (1957), but she claims that the reason she didn't win was because there was lobbying involved. She then played supporting roles like sister to stars like Dev Anand in Kala Bazar and did small roles in big films like Dhool Ka Phool. She played the title role in L.V. Prasad's Chhoti Bahen and the movie was a big hit, and then on she started playing lead roles like one of Dev Anand's heroine in Hum Dono (1961). She was the heroine in B R Chopra's songless film Kanoon (1960), which was very unusual back then. She won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for "Aanchal" (1960). She starred with Shashi Kapoor in a lot of films while he was a newcomer, but they were not successful. But they later had a big hit with Jab Jab Phool Khile (1965). In this film Nanda played a westernised role for the first time and it helped her image. Her favorite song that was famously picturized on her in the film was "Yeh Samaa." (Shashi Kapoor would later declare that Nanda was his favorite heroine.) She would continue to play heroine roles throughout the 1960's and signed with new leading men, such as Rajesh Khanna in the songless suspense thriller Ittefaq (1969) for which she received a Filmfare nomination as Best Actress. After Khanna became a star, he signed two more films with her, the thriller The Train (Hindi film) (1969) and a comedy Joroo Ka Ghulam (1972). After a small role in Manoj Kumar's Shor (1972), Nanda stopped appearing in films. She came back in three films in 1982, all coincidentally playing heroine Padmini Kolhapure's mother in Ahista Ahista (1982 film), Mazdoor and Raj Kapoor's Prem Rog. Then she permanently retired from acting. She has been close friends with actress Waheeda Rehman, ever since they co-starred in Kaala Bazaar. In 1965, when she was filming Jab Jab Phool Khile, director Suraj Prakash recalled that "a very handsome Maharashtrian Lieutenant Colonel had been smitten by Nanda" and had asked him to forward his marriage proposal to her mother, but in the end, nothing came of it.. Nanda's brothers also supposedly had brought home many suitors for her, but she turned them down. In 1992, a middle-aged Nanda became engaged to director Manmohan Desai at the urging of Waheeda Rehman. But he died tragically, before they could tie the knot, and Nanda has remained unmarried. Today, Nanda lives in her residence in Mumbai interacting only with close friends and family.

Many thankx to my friend"mgkhan2007"who sent this song for me................. ........................................... Paras (1971) Sanjeev Kumar ... Dharam Singh Rakhee Gulzar ... Barkha Singh (Prithvi's daughter) Shatrughan Sinha ... Thakur Arjun Singh Mehmood ... Munna Sarkar Farida Jalal ... Bela Singh Original Music by Anandji Veerji Shah (as Anandji) Kalyanji Veerji Shah (as Kalyanji) Dharam Singh is a honest farmer in rural India, and lives with his sister, Bela, who is now of marriageable age. One day both brother and sister witness a murder, and haul the killer to the nearest police station, where the killer is charged, arrested, and held for court. The killer is none other than the powerful and influential Arjun Singh's brother. When Arjun comes to know about Dharam and Bela being the only witnesses to this murder, he attempts to bribe them, albeit in vain, and his brother is sentenced to be hanged. In order to escape Arjun's wrath, Dharam relocates to the city, to earn a living, and thereby help his sister get married. Arjun sets fire to Dharam's house in the village, abducts Bela, and attempts to rape her, but she escapes, and goes in search of Dharam. After several months, she spots Dharam in the city in the company of a rich woman, Barkha. When she goes up to Dharam, he refuses to recognize her, and has nothing to do with her. All the songs are still immensely popular even now. All the songs are still immensely popular even now. ....................................... Sanjeev Kumar (July 9, 1938 -- November 6, 1985) was an Indian actor in Bollywood movies. He was born Harihar Jariwala to a Gujarati family living in Mumbai. A stint in film school took him to Bollywood, where he eventually became a star. He made his debut in the film Hum Hindustani in 1960. Sanjeev's first film as a hero was the 1965 Nishan. In 1968, he played opposite the famous actor Dilip Kumar in Sangharsh. In 1970, Khilona made him a star. He went on to star in the hits Seeta Aur Geeta (1972) and Manchali (1973). He started working with the well-known director Gulzar in the early 1970s. He did nine films with Gulzar, including Aandhi (1975), Mausam (1975), Angoor (1981) and Namkeen (1982). Many of his fans believe that these are some of the best films that he did. He was always ready to take unconventional roles that challenged him as an actor. He played Mirza, a chess-obsessed Lucknowi (citizen of Lucknow), in Satyajit Ray's classic Shatranj Ke Khiladi (1977). Perhaps his best-remembered roles were in the blockbuster films Sholay (1975) and Trishul (1978). He was a versatile actor and he performed nine different roles simultaneously in the film "Naya Din Nayi Raat" (1974). The movie was based on the original Tamil film Navarathri played by Sivaji Ganesan in (1964) and also emulated by Akkineni Nageswara Rao in the Telugu film Navarathri. During the early 1980s Sanjeev Kumar did more supporting roles than playing the lead. In 1985, when he was only forty-seven years old, he died of a heart ailment. He had never married. He was involved with actress Sulakshana Pandit who wanted to marry him, but he rejected her marriage proposal, because he never got over his heartbreak after actress Hema Malini rejected his marriage proposal to marry her frequent co-star Dharmendra. Ironically for an actor who played many elderly roles, he did not live to the age of 50. Ten of his already completed films were released after his death with his final film Professor Ki Padosan being released in 1993. At the time of his death this film was only 75% complete and it was decided to alter the story in the second half of the film to explain the absence of Sanjeev Kumar's character. One of his other notable releases after his death was K. Asif's much delayed Love and God which was over 20 years in the making. After director K. Asif died in 1971, production came to a halt and the film finally released in incomplete form in 1986, one year after Sanjeev Kumar himself also died. 1971 - Winner National Film Awards for Best Actor for Dastak 1973 - Winner National Film Awards for Best Actor for Koshish
