Like any other blast, like any other calamity inflicted by Osama bin Laden's bravehearts who choose their targets in the thick of night or from among the innocent populace going to temples or markets. This is the level of courage they show in the name of their faith. The basic malady however remains unattended. Surrounded by failed states and finding it compelling to be soft on terror-shelters in return for votes, a bleeding India tries to see some hope in Gurgaon-Bangalore (IT, call centre) progress barometers which clouds the basic point -- is the state willing to take on terrorism full steam. The half-hearted, fifty-fifty, salt and sweet policy to deal with terror gives us more Afzals and Jaipurs as attacks on Jammu, Akshardham, Varanasi and Parliament continue. A wet paper state is worse than being a soft one which refuses to see issues of infiltration, jihad , Maoism, and growing separatism as part of one big assault against the Indian state and her geographical entity, mind and spirit. Nations are run by owners, not tenants. The maliks are those who face storms and sacrifice their lives for 'their' motherland without ever dreaming of a return gift. The children of Mother India, the real ones, consider themselves to be infused with the power and sense of belonging to every inch of our holy land, regard the land as a goddess personified, a living entity and not just a conglomeration of rivers, jungles, peoples and buildings. Then the land, India runs in our veins -- we live her, adore her, devote ourselves for her service, the chant Vande Mataram is no longer a meaningless word but creates an aura of patriotism around our actions and thoughts. Every bit of her history and culture and people is reflected in the behaviour and actions of Mother India's children. Like an owner. Then the people are not just voters, they are your own kith and kin and any one anywhere who attacks them or hurts them automatically becomes your sworn enemy too. One doesn't have to ask 'whom do you belong to' either of the security personnel who sacrificed their lives to save Parliament or of some of the unworthy insiders or the Afzals and their co-conspirators. The choice would be obvious. But that's expected of owners. Today we have just tenants who use the motherland as a piece of real estate for their personal ends. Tenants consider themselves as beneficiaries. If the rotten system helps them stay longer, they are not bothered to change it. They don't fight the mischievous neighbour trespassing or breaking a boundary wall. At the most a tenant would report it to the owner -- look this is happening to your land -- take care if you wish to do so. Only owners would have a commitment and strength to safeguard it, change and improve the system and take hard, unpopular decisions. Tenants can have "statement governance" that smiles when slapped and laughs when hit hard for an award or appreciation from New York, or London. Awards for peace and tolerance. How can they, who loot national wealth to keep it in foreign banks, shut their eyes to territorial erosion and constitutional corrosion while continuing with election campaigning for the next round of 'money harvesting', call themselves children of Mother India and hence legitimate owners of this land? Anyone, any faith or caste or creed or belief or an atheist can be an inheritor of this blessed ownership if he does something in his life for the good of society without eyeing a free bungalow in Lutyen's Delhi. But not those for whom serving the nation is a rude synonym for serving their own interests. Scrapping POTA, silence on infiltration, half-hearted responses to continuing terrorism, committees to influence media and the judiciary to free the lecturer involved in the Parliament attack, a colonial attitude on civilisational matters, hate for Sanskrit and anything that relates with the quintessential characteristics of the land called India only indicates an alienated mindset controlling the polity.

People were minutely frisked and made to pass through metal detectors. According to police, they lost no time in tracing the phone number and its place of origin. 'We immediately sent a team to the hospital in plain clothes and asked them to keep an eye over people using the telephone booths. Sharma was arrested after he again came there and made a similar call,' Assistant Commissioner of Police Gurdeep Singh told IANS. 'Sharma revealed during interrogation that he was drunk and wanted to enjoy creating panic among people. He had been arrested for making a hoax call at the Lady Hardinge Hospital in 2005,' Singh said. He said that Sharma was not associated with other hoax calls that have put Delhi Police officials in a tizzy over the past couple of days. On Monday, a multiplex in east Delhi's Prashant Vihar was vacated after a phone call claiming that a bomb had been planted inside the premises. It later turned out to be a hoax. Sharma, a vendor who lives in old Delhi's Paharganj area, was produced before a city court and has been sent to 14 days judicial custody. Bhai Mati Das jee is a famous Shahid of the Sikhs who happily faced death by being sawn alive but did not forsake his faith. Bhatt Vehis record the history of this Shahid and it is known that Bhai Mati Das's grandfather, Bhai Paraga jee was a Sikh of Guru Hargobind and also became a Shaheed in the battle of Ruhila. Bhai Mati Das jee was of course then born into a Sikh family. The family had been Sikh since the time of Guru Ram Das. Bhai Sati Das was Bhai Sahib's brother. Bhai Mati Das accompanied Guru Tegh Bahadur in his travels to Assam, Bengal and Bihar. When Guru Sahib was arrested and brought to Delhi, Bhai Mati Das was also brought with him. When offered the choice to forsake the Sikh faith and become a Muslim or to face death, Bhai Mati Das happily accepted the latter and only asked that he die while facing the Guru. Even when Bhai Sahib's body had been cut in two, Japji Sahib could be heard from both halves. Bhai Sati Das was also offered the choice to forsake Sikhi or death, and accepted death. He was wrapped in cotton and burnt alive. Hindu fundamentalist organizations, in an effort to demean Guru Tegh Bahadur's Shaheedee, have appropriated Bhai Mati Das and Bhai Sati Das as Hindu heros. Yearly events are held to commemorate their martyrdoms but they are presented as Hindus who died for their faith. Bhai Hakeekat Singh jee was a young Sikh who is recorded in Bhatt Vehis as "Hakeekat Singh" but later was appropriated by Hindus as their own. Just like Bhai Hakeekat Singh is now referred to as Hakeekat Rai even by Sikhs, these groups hope Sikhs will also give up these two Sikh Shaheeds.

"INDIA - The scale of 'loss of life' and 'social upheaval' caused by militant Islam may be worse in India than any other land, simply by virtue of the number of individuals involved. By some estimates, over 60 million have died in conflicts with Muslims over the centuries. Jihadists have destroyed all native Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist communities from five of India's provinces (including North Kashmir, now called Pakistan and Bangladesh). Islam first came into India as a Military force in the year 715 C.E., in the Province of Sindh, but it made inroads into the country proper between 1020 and 1194 after which Mohammedan power became dominant in north India. The people of Kerala had their violent introduction to Islam in the 18th century, when Tipu Sultan, the usurper of the Mysore Principality marched into Kerala attacking the Zamorin Raja of Calicut and began 'converting' people to Islam. Tipu went about with a Koran in one hand and a sword in the other giving the subject people of Kerala a choice of accepting Islam or death. Doing this, he marched from Calicut up to Alwaye where he was forced to retreat because of stiff resistance. In 1669 Aurangzeb issued a general order for the destruction of Hindu temples, and it is estimated that about 3000 temples were destroyed and converted into Mosques in the 750 years of Muslim rule in India. During the sultanate and later under Aurangzeb, many hundreds of thousands of Hindus were forcibly converted to Islam. The sentences of criminals and prisoners of war were ruthlessly executed with mercy and allowances only available to individuals embracing Islam. The Jaziya tax was both a heavy financial -burden and a badge of inferiority borne by the Hindu, which also stimulated conversions to Islam. In the 1860s a Muslim cleric in the Punjab region of India launched a murderous jihad initially against Sikhs, and then against all non-Muslim groups. In South India in 1921, jihadists carried out massacres, the forced conversion of Hindus, and the desecration of Hindu temples. The number of casualties over the centuries are at least and order of magnitude greater than suffered by the Jews in the holocaust, and the ongoing conflicts have been key to the economic and social disadvantages of Indian society. Although Indians are an industrious and educated people, the social, political, and economic costs of the ongoing conflicts are the cause of its poor economic performance compared to other industrialized nations." http://www.islamundressed.com/ In India, the practice of "Religious Cleansing of Hindus,"is mainly associated with Muslim rule and persecution of the Hindus in the name of Islam (past & present) starting with the Muslim conquests themselves, starting with Muhammad bin Qasim in AD 712 onwards. In many pockets of Muslim concentration in India, non-Muslims are slowly cleansed out. This is sometimes down in an unplanned manner, but in most cases one can discern the rudiments of a strategy behind it all. In some southern cities, major Hindu temples have been isolated from their constituency of worshipers after Muslims strategically bought up all the real-estate around the temple. In Ahmedabad, Hindus have practically been driven out of the old city. In a bid to counter the grim and wid-ranging Hindu case against Islam as a destroyer of Hindu lives and culture, Marxist historians have propagated the claim that Hindus had done likewise to Buddhists: This claim has gained wide currency, including in Buddhist countries where it impedes the natural solidarity between Buddhists and Hindus. However, this claim is entirely fictitious. As recently as the late 90's, under Taliban rule, the remaining hundreds of Hindus in Kandahar (Afghanistan) who had taken to inconspicuous dress in order not to stand out among their Muslim neighbors, were forced to wear a yellow strip to make themselves recognizable. Nobody ever seems to hear of any oppression of Hindus. 'If you want to please your ancestors, if you give herbs and shrubs, you will gratify them only for one month - If you give fish, for two months - If you give 'Venison' the flesh of deer, for three months - if you give mutton, for four months - If you give flesh of birds for five months, - if you give Goat meat for six months - if you give spotted Deer, for seven months - if you give meat of black Antelope for eight months - if you give Cow, one full year - if you give Bull it is twelve years, and if you give Rhinoceros and red meat of Goat, for ever... Inexhaustible. So if you have to satisfy your ancestor, according to Rigved, you have to give more... you have to give red meat. (Clapping)

This is a film about the ethnic cleansing of Hindu Pandits from the Kashmir Valley by Muslims. Since the onset of the Islamic separatist movement in 1990, 500,000 families have been internally displaced. This figure represents more than 90 percent of the original Hindu population in the Kashmir valley. The Pandits have been the primary targets of Pakistan-trained killers in the war against the Indian government. The persecution and systematic destruction of Hindu culture in Kashmir follows a similar pattern to the treatment of Hindus meted out to Hindus in Pakistan after the partition, and during the 1971 genocide in Bangladesh in which 3 million people were killed and 10 million forced to flee to India.

Scene from Gadar showing Muslim mobs attacking Hindus and Sikhs leaving Pakistan in 1947. Derogatory words were also written on trains coming to India full of dead bodies. Some Hindus and Sikhs took revenge as shown in the later part of the video, but it was too little too late. Train hold-ups and killing of Hindu and Sikh passengers was a regular feature of the Muslim League plan of action, as various incidents from March, right up till January, 1948 show. All these atrocities on Hindus and Sikhs brought no condemnation whatever from the Muslim League leaders. They either kept silent about them, or continued to trot out imaginary atrocities on Muslims.
